The House of Representatives in the U.S. passed Resolution 676 on the Iranian uprising with an absolute majority vote. The resolution, endorsed with 415 positive votes and only two negative votes, supports the right of the people of Iran to free expression and condemns

the suppression of legitimate protests by the clerical regime. The resolution was prepared by Ed Royce, chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee and Eliot Angle the senior member of the House of Representatives.

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the most senior U.S. Representative from Florida, said:The world witnessed that the Iranian people came massively into the streets to protest against this extremist regime in Tehran. They made it clear that the policies of this regime have not solved any problems, just they are harmed. We have seen large-scale demonstrations in Iran before.

We saw such a demonstration in 2009, but this time, unlike in 2009, the United States has been working properly.

The US government has clearly supported the Iranian people and has warned the regime that we are watching the reaction to the protestors. General dissatisfaction in Iran is clear and these protests have revealed the gaps in this regime.
