Iran, Aug. 2018 – Marking the 30th year after the 1988 massacre of over 30,000 political prisoners across Iran, mostly members and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), resistance units in various cities launched a campaign of putting posters and laying flowers on the victims’ graves.
Resistance units members in Tehran put posters of Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi in the capital’s Argentine St. and Azadegan Highway. The posters had these sentences: “Death to Khamenei, the murderer of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.
Another poster was put up in the Hemmat Highway also citing Maryam Rajavi: “Despite 30 years passing from the 1988 massacre, these martyrs have not been forgotten.”
Other resistance unit members gathered at Tehran’s famous Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery to place flowers on these martyrs’ graves. A placard placed near the flowers reads: “Remembering the 1988 massacre martyrs – We shall return – We will answer fire with fire”
A resistance unit member in Lahijan, northern Iran, marked the memory of PMOI/MEK martyr Ala Kushali by placing a flower on his grave.
A resistance unit member in Tehran put up an image of PMOI/MEK martyr Shekar Mohammadzadeh, also executed during the 1988 massacre.
Resistance units in Tonekabon also put up posters of the 1988 massacre martyrs in various areas across the city.
A resistance unit member in Isfahan put up posters of 1988 massacre martyrs with this writing: “The blood of 30,000 massacred martyrs is alive in the Dec/Jan uprising, revolting cities until the overthrow of Khamenei and Rouhani.”
A resistance unit member in Tabriz paid his respects to the 1988 massacre martyrs buried in this city’s Rahmat Valley.
Another resistance unit member in Urmia put up a placard reading, “Death to Khamenei, the murderer of the 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.”
