CHARGES RELATED TO THE MASSACRE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS IN IRAN IN 1988:
1. As the religious judge, he was directly involved in the prosecution and execution of political prisoners
2. In his position as chief of the 2nd Branch of the Revolutionary Court and a religious judge, he had an active role in the arrest of dissident servicemen, ordering the execution of many of them.
3. In 1986, he was Khomeini’s representative for rebuilding the Army’s Counterintelligence Organization and in 1988, he was the representative of the Acting Commander of Chief for intelligence and security issues. In this position, he for the second time proceeded to purge the military personnel and to arrest and execute dissident servicemen.
4. From 1988 to 1993, he was Tehran’s General Prosecutor. In this capacity, he was personally responsible for the execution of many prisoners.
5. From 1993 until 1999, he was Chief of the Armed Forces’ Judicial Organization .In this position, he issued death sentences for several hundred servicemen opposing the regime and supporting the PMOI.
