Iranian regime president Ebrahim Raisi will not attend the UN climate change conference in Scotland in November.
The foreign ministry spokesman said there were never plans for Raisi to join COP26. Ironically, state media had widely publicized Raisi’s invitation to the conference in June.
The cancellation follows global calls to prosecute Raisi for his past crimes. Raisi played a key role in the mass killings of over 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 massacre.
According to jurists and legal experts, the 1988 massacre is a genocide and crime against humanity.
