Industrial Global Union Supports the Widespread Strike of Iran’s Petrochemical, Oil and Gas Workers

Industrial Global Union issued a statement supporting the nationwide strikes of Iranian petrochemical and oil and gas workers.

IndustriALL assistant general secretary Kemal Özkan said:

“Once again, our Iranian brothers have shown tremendous courage and resolve in the face of oppression. They are taking collective action to defend themselves, to improve their conditions, and to demand that their homeland is built to meet the needs of the many. We salute them and stand in solidarity with their struggle and just demands.”

The union declares that it is fighting alongside the Iranian workers for the realization of their demands and demands for greater solidarity.

It is reminded that the mass strikes by oil sector workers, which began on June 19, 2021. The strike, which is affecting one of the vital sectors of Iran’s economy, has been expanding in the past days, with a growing number of workers from different companies joining the movement every day.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, The President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), saluted the striking workers for protesting for more than a week for their basic rights. She called on all workers and youth to support the strikers.

Mrs. Rajavi added that the continuation of strikes and protests by workers and laborers indicate the public’s resolve to overthrow the anti-labor clerical regime. This regime is the main cause of poverty, inflation, and unemployment due to systematic corruption, plundering and wasting public wealth and resources in incitement to war, terrorism, and unpatriotic nuclear and missile projects.
