Iran Where Mass Murderers Rule

Ebrahim Raisi was inaugurated as Iran’s president on August 5, 2021, while all Iranian officials have been involved in human rights violations. Raisi, with his dark record of human rights violations, shows the real violent face of the mullahs’ regime.

1988 Massacre in Iran – Background

In the summer of 1988, Ruhollah Khomeini ordered the mass killing of political prisoners. In Just 231 words, he sentenced thousands to death.
Shortly after, “Death Commissions” were formed to implement Khomeini’s fatwa across Iran. These so-called commissions acted as kangaroo trials and sent over 30,000 political prisoners to the gallows in a few months.
Raisi was a key member of the Tehran “Death Commission” in 1988.

The victims were members and supporters of the Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK. Fascinated by Raisi’s brutality, in 1989 Khomeini selected him to be in a two-member delegation alongside another mullah, Hossein-Ali Nayyeri. The two were tasked with issuing death sentences and ordering amputation of limbs.

Now, Raisi’s rise to the presidency is “a grim reminder that impunity reigns supreme in Iran,” as highlighted by Amnesty International.

It is time for the international community to hold Raisi and the entire regime of mass murderers to account for human rights violations.
