I announce my solidarity with the Iranian alternative & its’ Gathering in Paris

I announce my solidarity with the Iranian alternative and its’ Gathering in Paris

On the eve of the Iranian Grand Gathering in Paris, some other political and social figures in Europe gave their support to the event.

Lord Carlile, a British MP announced his solidarity with the Iranians’ Gathering in Paris.

Gathering

Lord Carlile:

I send my greetings to the Gathering in Paris, I’m sorry that I cannot be there with you. The Gathering is a very important event for the community of the NCRI and it is particularly important at this critical time in relations between the West and the government of Iran. It is extremely important that we should send out a clear message that the human rights situation in Iran remains wholly unacceptable and that we condemn the way in which so-called justice system in Iran operates. This is in my view a separate matter from the nuclear deal which has proved so controversial recently. In my view, all governments should treat the issue of human rights in Iran both historically and currently as a freestanding issue upon which are appropriate and strong representation should be made by governments around the world to ensure Justice is brought to the people of Iran in due course. Of course, we hope for there to be a democratic government in Iran and we hope that the NCRI will be part of that democratic government but that may be a little bit ahead. For the time being, we must be careful but first to be insured but policy towards Iran by all Western governments is seen to be tough and seem to be realistic as well and is part of a strong drive towards an eventual regime change. I hope one day to be able to walk on the streets of a democratic Iran.
