Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), delivered a powerful speech at a conference held at the Municipality of the 5th District of Paris on April 30, 2024. The event was organized in solidarity with the Iranian Resistance movement and took place on the eve of International Workers’ Day.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Rajavi expressed her gratitude to Mayor Florence Berthout for hosting the exhibition in support of the Iranian Resistance. She acknowledged the significance of the event’s timing, coinciding with the celebration of International Workers’ Day, and saluted the workers and laborers in Iran who continue to struggle against the oppressive religious dictatorship despite their difficult living conditions.

The Bravery of the Resistance Units

Maryam Rajavi highlighted the bravery and determination of the young members of the Resistance Units, who persistently combat the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) under the rallying cry “Woman-Resistance-Freedom!”
She noted that after enduring four decades of tests and tribulations, women have emerged as the driving force of the Resistance, with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) being led by a Central Council composed entirely of women.

The Alternative Presented by the NCRI

Mrs. Rajavi stated that the alternative presented by the National Council of Resistance of Iran advocates for a democratic republic founded on principles of free elections, the separation of religion and state, gender equality, the abolition of the death penalty, and peaceful coexistence with all nations. She emphasized that the ultimate solution to the Iranian regime’s oppression is to overthrow the government, which can only be achieved by the people of Iran and the Iranian Resistance.

Conclusion

Maryam Rajavi’s speech at the conference in Paris was a powerful call to action, inspiring the audience with the resilience and determination of the Iranian Resistance movement. Her message of hope and the vision for a democratic Iran resonated strongly, underscoring the importance of international solidarity in supporting the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and justice.
