Toronto, Canada—August 21, 2024: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized a rally to protest the rising wave of executions carried out by the Iranian regime. MEK supporters in Toronto demanded that the leaders of the mullahs’ regime be tried for crimes against humanity in an international court.
They also called for the immediate release of all political prisoners held in the prisons of the mullahs’ regime in Iran and expressed their solidarity with the Iranian Revolution.
Iranian community in Toronto marked the eleventh anniversary of the massacre of MEK members in Ashraf, Iraq, on September 1, 2013. At the time, at the behest and command of the Iranian regime, Iraqi special forces, attacked Camp Ashraf, killing 52 members of the MEK and abducting seven others.
Supporters of the PMOI in Toronto, on the eve of the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), celebrated the beginning of the organization’s 60th year since its founding.
Freedom-loving Iranians in Toronto emphasized the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic republic and rejection of any kind of dictatorship, whether it be the mullahs’ regime or a return to the Shah’s regime.
They demanded recognition of the resistance and the right of the Iranian people and the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran to defend themselves in their struggle against tyranny and dictatorship.
