Hamburg, Germany—October 31, 2024: Members of the Iranian community in Berlin, supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), gathered in front of the Iranian regime’s consulate to celebrate Germany’s decision to close all regime consulates. They welcomed this significant move and echoed a call for the immediate blacklisting of the IRGC as a terrorist organization.
It is noteworthy that after the closure of the Iranian regime’s consulates in Germany, the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s representative office announced: “The representative office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Berlin welcomes the closure of the three consulates of the Iranian regime in Germany by the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock.
This is a necessary step that must be followed by other European countries, and complemented by other measures, including closing down the regime’s embassy and unofficial centers, designating the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) as terrorist entities, expelling their agents and operatives, and holding the regime’s leaders to account.
These individuals and institutions are directly involved in the execution of thousands of political prisoners inside Iran, terrorist operations on European soil, and war and belligerence in the region.
These measures should not be delayed pending a collective decision by the European Union, and the German government can take the lead in adopting them.
For decades, the Iranian regime has held the foreign policy of the European Union and its member states hostage through various means, including terrorism and hostage-taking, economic concessions, as well as using a network of ostensibly “independent” experts, enabling it to prevent the implementation of decisive policies.
Obviously, the EU policy has resulted in disaster. Time has come to adopt a decisive and comprehensive policy that the Iranian Resistance has always underscored.”
