Geneva, Switzerland – November 29, 2024
The Place des Nations in Geneva was filled with chants of defiance and determination as freedom-seeking Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered on Friday. The rally was held in front of the United Nations headquarters, coinciding with negotiations between European countries and the Iranian regime. Protesters condemned the appeasement of the mullahs and demanded justice for the regime’s widespread crimes against humanity.
Demonstrators directed their slogans at the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and its President, Masoud Pezeshkian, holding them accountable for escalating repression and systemic abuses. Protesters highlighted the surge in executions under Pezeshkian’s presidency, describing it as an attempt to crush dissent amid growing unrest in Iran. They called for the trial of Khamenei and other regime leaders in international courts for crimes against humanity, including the regime’s brutal crackdowns on dissent and executions of political prisoners.
The crowd also expressed solidarity with the ongoing Iranian Revolution, voicing support for the brave Iranian women leading the struggle for freedom with slogans such as “Woman, Resistance, Freedom.” The demonstrators praised the MEK Resistance Units operating inside Iran, describing them as the driving force behind the uprising, and called on the international community to formally recognize the Iranian people’s right to resist the regime’s oppression.
Iranians in Geneva emphasized the Iranian people’s desire for a democratic republic and rejection of any kind of dictatorship, whether it be the mullahs’ regime or a return to the Shah’s regime.

In addition, protesters urged the European Union and global powers to take decisive action, including the blacklisting of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which they identified as the regime’s main tool for oppression and export of terrorism.
