Manchester Exhibition Stands with Iranian Political Prisoners, Protests Human Rights Violations – December 12, 2024

Manchester, UK—December 12, 2024

Manchester, UK—December 12, 2024: Freedom-loving Iranians and academics in England, supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), organized an exhibition to denounce human rights violations in Iran.

The event spotlighted the dire human rights situation in Iran, particularly the plight of political prisoners facing death sentences. It called for the immediate release of all political detainees held by the mullahs’ regime and condemned the death sentences issued against six political prisoners associated with the PMOI.

The exhibition also expressed solidarity with the Iranian Revolution, emphasizing the shared commitment to freedom and democracy in Iran.

Furthermore, it urged the UK government to officially designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and to close the Iranian regime’s embassy, described as a hub for espionage and terrorism.

The Academics In Exile Association stated on the X platform: “Stand against injustice: Six political prisoners in Iran face imminent execution. Raise your voice to save lives and demand human rights. Together, we can make a difference.”

Members of Manchester’s Iranian community called for the international prosecution of Iran’s leaders for crimes against humanity. Additionally, the academics called for justice, tougher sanctions on the regime, and recognition of the Iranian people’s right to self-defense.

The exhibition was well-received by the citizens of Manchester, and they signed a petition condemning the human rights violations committed by the mullah regime in Iran.
