Maryam Rajavi’s Christmas and New Year 2025 Message: A Call for Liberation and Justice for the Oppressed

Maryam Rajavi’s message for Christmas and New Year 2025

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), delivered a compelling message for Christmas and the New Year 2025, emphasizing themes of liberation, freedom, and justice. In her address, she extended warm wishes: “Merry Christmas to our Christian compatriots and all followers of Christ.” Rajavi hailed Jesus Christ as “the great prophet of God, the messenger of freedom for the oppressed and the afflicted, and an everlasting inspiration to those who rise in the pursuit of liberty.” She also honored the Virgin Mary for her steadfast defense of Jesus and His message, describing her as an “eternal emblem of purity and liberation.”

Mrs. Rajavi pointed out that the birth of Jesus has always symbolized liberation and justice for humanity, stating, “It is the same joyous news proclaimed by God’s angels to the downtrodden and afflicted: ‘I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today, a Savior has been born.’” She emphasized that this day serves as a beacon of hope for those who are persecuted and those who hunger for righteousness.

In her address, Rajavi referenced recent events in Syria where a dictatorship was overthrown, linking it to Christ’s message that “the oppressed shall be set free.” She expressed hope for the people of Iran to break free from what she described as the chains of tyranny imposed by the ruling mullahs.
Rajavi condemned the Iranian regime’s escalating campaign of repression against its citizens, particularly targeting youth and ethnic minorities. She stated that millions are suffering from poverty and crises exacerbated by government mismanagement. Despite these challenges, she affirmed that “the liberating messages of Christ—alongside the teachings of Moses and Muhammad—have continuously illuminated the path of all oppressed peoples in their struggle for freedom, justice, and salvation.”

She concluded her message by acknowledging the efforts of workers fighting for justice and members of Resistance Units in Iran who are preparing for an uprising against tyranny. Rajavi expressed confidence that these efforts would lead to the dismantling of oppressive structures in Iran, stating that they are bringing closer the moment when “the tyranny of the mullahs will be overthrown.”
