Global Leaders Advocate for Resistance and a Democratic Future for Iran at Paris Conference

Paris Conference – Prominent Global Leaders Unite in Support of the Iranian Resistance

Paris, January 11, 2025 – A pivotal international conference on Iran’s future convened in Paris, gathering prominent political and military figures to advocate for a new global approach toward the Iranian regime. Participants emphasized the role of the Iranian Resistance as a credible and democratic alternative to the ruling theocracy.

Notable speakers included Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI); Gen. James Jones, former U.S. National Security Advisor; Liz Truss, former UK Prime Minister; John Bercow, former Speaker of the UK Parliament; Janez Janša, former Prime Minister of Slovenia; Yulia Tymoshenko, former Ukrainian Prime Minister; General Tod Wolters, former NATO Commander; David Jones, former UK Minister; and Gen. Keith Kellogg, former U.S. National Security Advisor. Other speakers, such as Ola Elvestuen, former Norwegian Minister of Climate and Environment, and members of NCRI supporters, underscored the call for democracy and human rights.

Solidarity messages from members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), based in Ashraf 3, Albania, highlighted the resistance’s enduring commitment to democracy and regime change.

In her address, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi stressed the regime’s precarious position. “The 2024 election boycott and Syria’s regime collapse reveal that Tehran is on the brink of downfall,” she declared. She outlined three critical factors: deep economic corruption, regional defeats, and the expanding influence of Resistance Units. She presented the NCRI’s Ten-Point Plan, championing freedom, gender equality, secular governance, and a non-nuclear future.

General James Jones termed 2024 “disastrous” for Tehran, citing setbacks in Syria, Yemen, and Hezbollah’s weakening. He lauded the bravery of MEK-affiliated Resistance Units, condemning Iran’s internal repression and urging international sanctions and NCRI recognition.

Liz Truss criticized appeasement strategies, warning of Iran’s nuclear ambitions and supporting maximum pressure policies. She emphasized the NCRI’s democratic vision, saying, “The time for change is now.”

John Bercow highlighted the NCRI’s leadership and the widespread disillusionment of Iranians with the regime, urging global support for a peaceful democratic transition.

General Keith Kellogg described 2025 as a critical moment, advocating for renewed international pressure and applauding the NCRI’s comprehensive plan for a democratic Iran.

Janez Janša called for stronger sanctions and labeled the IRGC a terrorist organization, stating, “Change is inevitable, and the NCRI is key to achieving it.”

Yulia Tymoshenko drew parallels between Iran’s and Ukraine’s struggles, urging moral and political backing for the NCRI. She emphasized that the regime’s fall would signal a turning point for global stability.

General Tod Wolters echoed the need for decisive action, lauding the NCRI’s strategic plans as a path toward a free Iran.

David Jones emphasized the significance of Assad’s fall for Tehran’s weakening position, applauding the Iranian people’s resilience and the NCRI’s leadership.

Ola Elvestuen highlighted Tehran’s smear campaigns against the NCRI, describing them as evidence of the regime’s fear. He urged global recognition of the NCRI as the legitimate voice of the Iranian people, praising its Ten-Point Plan as a blueprint for democracy.

The conference reaffirmed a united commitment to resisting tyranny, advocating for democratic change, and supporting the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom.
