Washington DC – Iranian Americans Rally to End Executions and Support Regime Change in Iran

Washington, DC — July 19, 2025

Washington, DC — July 19, 2025: Members of the Iranian American community and supporters of the Iranian Resistance held a rally in front of the White House on July 19, 2025, to protest the Iranian regime’s rising wave of executions and repression of political prisoners. Organized by the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC), the demonstration highlighted the regime’s systematic human rights abuses, including the ongoing persecution of supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Protesters called for the immediate abolition of the death penalty and the release of all political prisoners.

The situation of political prisoners such as Saeed Masouri and Ali Younesi was also highlighted as deeply concerning. Protesters denounced the Iranian regime’s threats and pressure against them, including the recent move to transfer Masouri to the notorious Zahedan Prison, interpreting this as part of the regime’s policy of isolation and intimidation.

Participants urged the international community to adopt concrete measures, including targeted human rights sanctions, the expulsion of Iranian regime diplomats, and the closure of Iranian embassies in Western countries. They stressed that firm action is needed to confront the regime’s ongoing crimes and prevent further bloodshed inside Iran’s prisons.

A central message of the rally was support for the “Third Option” presented by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). This plan rejects both foreign military intervention and appeasement of the regime, instead advocating for democratic change led by the Iranian people and their organized resistance movement. Protesters reaffirmed their vision for a free, secular, democratic, and non-nuclear Iran based on Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan.

Rally speakers also referred to growing bipartisan backing in the U.S. Congress for House Resolution 166, which supports the Iranian people’s right to establish a democratic republic. They stressed that the Iranian people reject both the clerical dictatorship and any return to monarchy, insisting that regime change must be achieved by the people of Iran and their organized resistance.

With chants of “No to war, no to appeasement — yes to regime change by the Iranian people and their resistance,” Iranian American protesters sent a strong message to the international community: stand with the Iranian people in their decades-long fight for freedom, justice, and democracy.

This rally served as a demonstration of solidarity with Iran’s political prisoners and a renewed call for decisive action to end the regime’s repression and support a future defined by freedom and democratic change.
