Sheffield, UK – August 26, 2025 – The Academics in Exile Association, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), held an exhibition and bookstall in Sheffield to condemn the Iranian regime’s ongoing execution of political prisoners.
The event sought to raise awareness about the imminent threat facing five political prisoners recently transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison, a notorious site for executions, placing their lives in grave danger.

Demands of the event organizers:
-
The complete abolition of the death penalty in Iran.
-
The immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners.
-
International recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist tyranny.
Participants also called on the UK government to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and to close the Iranian regime’s embassy in London, describing it as a hub for espionage and terrorist activities.
Members of the Iranian diaspora in Sheffield echoed these demands, urging international legal action against Iran’s leaders for crimes against humanity. The academics further pressed for justice, stronger sanctions on the regime, and formal recognition of the Iranian people’s right to self-defense.
The exhibition attracted significant interest from a diverse audience in Sheffield, underscoring the growing global concern over human rights violations in Iran.
