Maryam Rajavi: Executions are the main tools of repression and maintaining power against the people and the organized resistance

On Friday, October 17, 2025, the Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, carried out a series of bold activities defying the regime’s wave of executions and repressive measures. Through these actions, the Resistance Units once again demonstrated their determination to overthrow the mullahs’ dictatorship and establish a free and democratic republic in Iran.
They also rejected the return of the overthrown Shah’s dictatorship and emphasized their support for a democratic republic based on freedom, equality, and popular sovereignty.

As part of their campaign, the Resistance Units raised banners, placards, and handwritten slogans across the city condemning the regime’s executions, torture, and repression, and calling for uprising and freedom. Many of their slogans and banners echoed the statements and positions of the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, reflecting the vision of a democratic, secular, and free Iran.

The slogans read:

• “The ruling regime in Iran is the regime of executions and massacre, the monster of death and the manifestation of destruction.”
• “The response to executions and intimidation is fire and uprising.”
• “The kangaroo courts and all institutions of repression, murder, and espionage must be dismantled.”
• “Khamenei has come to fight the Iranian people and the Resistance with the weapon of execution.”
• “The crime of death-row prisoners is their love for freedom.”
• “Salute to Baluch freedom fighters struggling for freedom and justice.”
• “[The regime] will burn in the blood of Baluch fuel porters.”
• “If resistance for freedom is a crime, we are proud of our crimes.”
• “We will fight, we will die, and we will take back Iran.”

These courageous messages once again showed the unwavering defiance of the people of Zahedan and the steadfast resolve of the Resistance Units to continue their struggle until the overthrow of the clerical regime and the establishment of a free Iran.
