Iran Uprising Day 26: Regime Admits Protests in 400 Cities as European Parliament Moves to Blacklist IRGC

Day 26 of Iran’s uprising exposes the regime’s weakness as protests spread to 400 cities and Europe moves to blacklist the IRGC.

Regime Acknowledges Nationwide Protests

On Day 26 of the Iran uprising, a rare admission by a senior regime official confirmed that protests have engulfed over 400 cities and counties nationwide. This acknowledgment comes despite a continuing countrywide internet blackout that has isolated Iranians from global communications for more than two weeks. According to the regime’s Security Council Secretary, clashes erupted simultaneously in 100 locations in Tehran alone, illustrating the broad scope and coordination of resistance.

European Parliament Pushes IRGC Blacklist

In response to escalating repression, the European Parliament adopted a strong resolution condemning Iran’s violent crackdown on demonstrators and called for the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. The resolution passed overwhelmingly with a significant majority, underscoring European lawmakers’ concern over human rights abuses and state violence. In parallel, the Parliament stressed the need to condition all future relations with Iran on genuine progress in human rights and democratic freedoms.

Maryam Rajavi Welcomes European Parliament Resolution

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), welcomed the European Parliament’s resolution condemning the regime’s brutal repression of protesters, describing it as a courageous and timely act of solidarity with the Iranian people’s uprising. She expressed her sincere appreciation to European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Members of Parliament for standing with the Iranian people and supporting their legitimate demands for freedom, human rights, and democracy. Rajavi emphasized that such international positions reinforce the Iranian people’s resolve and send a clear message that repression and impunity will not go unanswered.

Ongoing Repression and Resistance Tactics

Despite the regime’s attempts to contain and obscure developments, field reports and resistance sources describe continued clashes and acts of defiance across the country. Protesters have confronted security forces in several major urban centers, using grassroots tactics to challenge the regime’s military and security apparatus. Meanwhile, the internet blackout persists, limiting outside verification but failing to quell internal resistance and international condemnation.
