Supporters of the Iranian Resistance Rally in Geneva Amid UN Human Rights Council Session
Geneva, Switzerland — January 23, 2026: Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered outside the UN headquarters in Geneva to show solidarity with the nationwide uprising in Iran and call for international action against the mullahs’ regime.
Solidarity with Iran’s Nationwide Uprising
Demonstrators carried banners reading “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs” and “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran,” expressing support for protesters inside Iran and demanding a free and democratic republic. Photos of the martyrs of the ongoing nationwide protests highlighted the regime’s violent repression, including killings, mass arrests, and hospital raids.
A key demand of the demonstrators was a call for democratic countries to pursue legal action against Ali Khamenei and other regime leaders for crimes against humanity and the killing of protesters in Iran.

UN Human Rights Council Adopts Resolution Against Iran’s Clerical Regime
During the ongoing Human Rights Council session, a resolution condemning the Iranian regime’s brutal suppression of protesters was adopted by a clear majority. The resolution emphasizes widespread human rights violations and calls for accountability for the regime’s actions.
Maryam Rajavi: The Time for Accountability Has Arrived
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated:
“The UN Human Rights Council’s adoption of a resolution by a clear majority condemning the clerical regime’s brutal suppression of the Iranian people’s protests—alongside strong statements by country representatives and the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran—has exposed a clear truth: the ruling religious fascism can no longer hide its crimes from the world. The time for accountability has arrived. Those who ordered and perpetrated these atrocities must be brought to justice.”

International Support Needed
Speakers at the Geneva rally emphasized that verbal condemnations are no longer sufficient. They called on the international community to take concrete measures, including:
-
Investigations into crimes against humanity
-
Holding regime leaders accountable in international courts
-
Applying legal actions under universal jurisdiction
