Copenhagen, Denmark – March 6, 2026 — Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered once again outside the Iranian regime’s embassy in Copenhagen. During the rally, participants called for the overthrow of the clerical establishment and voiced support for the MEK’s Resistance Units operating inside Iran. Many described the current moment as a turning point in Iran’s political future.
In addition, participants welcomed the official announcement of a Provisional Government by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), a coalition of democratic Iranian opposition groups. According to the organizers, this initiative represents a viable democratic alternative for Iran following the death of Ali Khamenei.
Support for a Democratic Transition in Iran
Speakers at the rally rejected both the former monarchical system and the current religious dictatorship. They emphasized that the Iranian people must determine the country’s future through democratic governance.
Furthermore, the speakers expressed strong support for the ten-point plan proposed by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI. They described the plan as a comprehensive framework for a transitional government. The proposal highlights universal suffrage, gender equality, individual freedoms, and the rule of law as key principles.
Finally, the NCRI’s Provisional Government declaration, issued on February 28, presents a roadmap for transferring sovereignty to the Iranian people. It also calls for dismantling institutions linked to absolute clerical rule. According to supporters, this process would pave the way for the establishment of a democratic republic in Iran.
