Public Campaign Highlights Vision of Freedom, Equality, and Popular Sovereignty

May 29, 2026—Zahedan, southeast Iran
On Friday, May 29, courageous MEK Resistance Units in Zahedan carried out a series of activities by displaying banners, placards, and slogans denouncing all forms of dictatorship—from the defunct monarchy to the ruling religious fascism—while promoting the alternative of a democratic republic and reaffirming the Iranian people’s rejection of both Shah and Mullahs’ rule.

Resistance Leaders’ Messages Outline a Democratic Alternative

The leaflets featured messages from Iranian Resistance leader Mr. Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, emphasizing that Iran’s future lies neither in the restoration of monarchy nor in the continuation of clerical rule.

Among the messages circulated were:

  • “The fundamental principle of ‘Neither Shah nor Mullah’ means the rejection of every form of dictatorship and dependence.”
  • “Replacing a fascistic structure with a democratic and pluralistic republic is the only path forward.”
  • “The main struggle against the ruling regime today is being carried out through the ongoing uprisings of the Iranian people and the activities of the Resistance Units.”
  • “At the center of the organized resistance of the Iranian people stand the Resistance Units.”
  • “The overthrow of this regime is possible only through the uprising of the people and the organized resistance of Iran.”
  • “We have risen for the people’s right to sovereignty.”

The campaign highlighted the Resistance movement’s commitment to democratic change through organized resistance and nationwide popular uprisings.

Rejecting Both Monarchy and Theocracy

A central theme of the operation was the rejection of both the ruling religious dictatorship and any return to monarchical rule.

Leaflets and banners carried slogans reflecting the Resistance’s longstanding position that Iran’s future belongs to a democratic republic based on the will of the people:

  • “No to monarchy, no to the supreme leader. Yes to freedom and equality.”
  • “No to the Shah, no to the mullahs, yes to freedom and a democratic republic.”
  • “Dictatorship is dictatorship, whether it wears a turban or a crown.”
  • “Monarchy and Velayat-e Faqih (Mullahs’ rule): one hundred years of crime.”
  • “Curse upon the bloodthirsty Mullah and Shah.”

From Zahedan to Tehran: A Message of Nationwide Solidarity

The banners displayed during the operation also expressed solidarity with protesters and Resistance activists across Iran.

Among the slogans displayed were:

  • “From Zahedan to Tehran, down with the oppressor, whether the Shah or the supreme leader.”
  • “Baluchestan is awake; it rejects both Shah and Mullah.”
  • “Neither monarchy nor supreme leadership; democracy and equality.”

The campaign reflected the determination of the Iranian Resistance to reject both monarchical and religious dictatorship and to advance the struggle for a democratic republic based on freedom, equality, and the people’s sovereignty.
