Paris, August 22, 2026 — For the fourth consecutive week, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a photo exhibition accompanied by a rally and public action in Paris, drawing attention to Iran’s escalating executions and calling for an end to the death penalty. After being held at different locations across the French capital in previous weeks, this week’s exhibition and gathering took place at Place de la Bastille on Saturday, August 22.

Held under the slogan “Stop Executions in Iran,” the event was organized by supporters of the PMOI and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). It honored recently executed PMOI members and protesters killed during Iran’s nationwide uprising in January 2026, while highlighting the growing number of executions in Iran since the beginning of the year.

Remembering the Victims of Iran’s 1988 Massacre and Demanding Justice

The event also commemorated the victims of the 1988 massacre, when more than 30,000 political prisoners were executed in the summer of 1988 following orders by Ruhollah Khomeini. Photographs of the victims were displayed alongside material documenting the January 2026 uprising, during which, according to figures released by the PMOI, thousands of protesters were reportedly killed.

During the gathering, supporters of the Iranian Resistance chanted, “Stop, stop, stop, stop executions in Iran,” reaffirming their opposition to what they described as the Iranian regime’s campaign of executions, repression, and intimidation.

Speakers and attendees stressed that decades of executions, imprisonment, and systematic repression have not ended the Iranian people’s pursuit of freedom, democracy, and human rights. They also highlighted the role of Resistance Units inside Iran and called for accountability for past and ongoing human rights violations.

The Paris action reiterated support for the Iranian people’s aspirations for a free, democratic, and just future and urged the international community to firmly oppose the Iranian government’s use of the death penalty as a means of political repression.

The message from Place de la Bastille was clear: The Iranian mullahs’ execution spree must stop, and the world must act.
