PMOI supporters rally in Vancouver to condemn executions and call for a free, democratic republic in Iran.

Vancouver, Canada – August 22, 2026: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a rally in Vancouver to condemn the execution of political prisoners in Iran, including PMOI members and protesters detained during the January 2026 uprising.

Demonstrators denounced the executions as a grave violation of human rights and condemned what they described as the Iranian regime’s continued repression of political opponents and peaceful protesters. Participants paid tribute to the victims by holding their photographs and honoring their memory.

The demonstrators reaffirmed their determination to continue supporting the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom, democracy, and justice. They called for an end to the clerical regime and expressed their commitment to establishing a democratic republic based on peace, freedom, and justice.

The protesters also urged the Canadian government to adopt a firm and decisive policy in response to the Iranian regime’s ongoing human rights violations and its execution of political prisoners.

Call for International Support

Organizers of the Vancouver rally called on the Canadian public and the international community to stand with the Iranian people in their pursuit of democratic change. They emphasized that the Iranian people have repeatedly rejected all forms of dictatorship, whether monarchical or theocratic.

The organizers urged governments and international institutions to recognize the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom and democracy and to take concrete measures in support of their fundamental rights.
