
Mehdi Khanaki, a 26-year-old law graduate and member of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), was arrested in Karaj in February 2026 and later sentenced to death on charges related to his alleged membership in the PMOI and activities against the regime. Reports said he was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture during his detention. He was executed by the Iranian regime at Karaj Prison on July 22, 2026.

PMOI Resistance Units paid tribute to Mehdi Khanaki, a courageous commander of Resistance Units, on the 40th day since his execution by Iran’s clerical regime.
The Resistance Units honored his memory with floral tributes and images of the young PMOI member, reaffirming that his name and memory remain alive.

“Brave Mehdi, we will never forget you. Your name is in our hearts, and your memory is with us every moment.”
