NEW YORK — The Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) has issued a broad call to Iranian-Americans and freedom-seeking Iranians worldwide to take part in two major rallies outside the United Nations on September 22 and 23, 2026.

The gatherings will be held at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza (Second Avenue and 47th Street) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Organizers say the events form the climax of a week-long campaign that begins on September 17, coinciding with the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

OIAC stated that the purpose of the demonstrations is to draw international attention to what it describes as an escalating human-rights crisis in Iran, including a sharp rise in political executions, torture, and repression. Participants will demand that the international community act against these practices and stand with the Iranian people.

In messages circulated by OIAC and its supporters, organizers have used slogans such as “No to executions, no to torture and repression” and have called for an end to the current Iranian government.

They say the rallies will represent the voice of Iranians who seek a free and democratic future for their country.

OIAC has urged supporters across the United States and abroad to attend in large numbers, describing the events as an opportunity for “thousands of freedom fighters” to make their voices heard while world leaders gather in New York.
