Resistance Units Activities Mark Iran’s New Academic Year Across Iran
Iran – September 22, 2026: A series of photo calls, poster and leaflet installations, banners, and wall writings were reported in several Iranian cities on September 22, 2026, carried out by Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), marking the beginning of the new Iranian academic year. The activities largely featured slogans about Resistance Units, the uprising, freedom, and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s message on the occasion of the new academic year.
Activities in Tehran and Karaj
On September 22, a series of activities were reported in Tehran and Karaj. The activities included photo calls, the posting of posters and leaflets, and the display of handwritten and printed banners.
The slogans mainly called for the expansion of Resistance Units in schools and universities, the continuation of the uprising, freedom, and the rejection of the clerical dictatorship. In Tehran, cases of posters being placed on vehicles were also reported.
Isfahan: Photo Calls and Wall Writings
In Isfahan, in addition to two-person photo calls featuring banners and leaflets, several instances of spray-painted wall writings were reported.
The slogans largely focused on expanding Resistance Units in schools and universities, continuing the uprising, and the themes of freedom and resistance.
Shiraz, Qazvin, and Kerman
In Shiraz, reports included the posting of posters and leaflets and photo calls featuring slogans about schools, universities, Resistance Units, and the uprising.
In Qazvin, a two-person photo call was reported featuring large banners and slogans concerning freedom, justice, and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
In Kerman, the posting of posters and a photo call featuring political slogans were reported.
Gorgan, Lahijan, and Abadan
In Gorgan, leaflets calling for the expansion of Resistance Units in schools and universities were reported to have been posted.
In Lahijan, leaflets concerning the reopening of schools and colleges amid a climate of protest were reported.
In Abadan, one instance of wall writing featuring a slogan related to the uprising and freedom was reported.
Mashhad: Group Action
In Mashhad, a group action involving a fabric banner was also reported. The banner carried slogans concerning students and schoolchildren, freedom, and determination to overthrow the repressive clerical regime.
