There ex-pat Iranians, MEK & NCRI supporters showed solidarity with the people’s protests and celebrated the anniversary of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi’s release from the Shah’s prison in 1979. He was among the last group of political prisoners to be freed, four days after the Shah fled the country.

In Stockholm, Sweden, MEK & NCRI held up banners with messages of support for the Iran protests and pictures of Rajavi, while honouring his 50-year-long dedication to freedom and his remarkable sacrifices to honour the Iranian resistance.

They chanted slogans like, “Down with the oppressor; be it the Shah or Khamenei”.

MEK & NCRI in Hamburg, Germany, also held a rally in support of the Iran protests and celebrating the anniversary of Rajavi’s release from prison. The rally was addressed by some of the representatives of the Iranian-German associations.

In the Netherlands, MEK & NCRI supporters held a protest in front of the Dutch Parliament in The Hague to demand the immediate release of all political prisoners. They also called on the international community to send a fact-finding mission to Iran to stop further killings by the regime.

Protesters also gathered in Copenhagen, Denmark, to chant slogans in support of their fellow Iranians. These included “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran” and “Down with the dictator. Down with Khamenei”.

In London’s Trafalgar Square, protesters held up pictures of Rajavi and urged the UK government to recognise the democratic aspirations of the Iranian people, which would mean ending appeasement of the mullahs through the 2015 nuclear deal.

While in the  United States, where the political tide has indeed turned on the Iranian Regime, MEK and NCRI supporters held a protest outside the White House in Washington DC to demand that all political prisoners be freed, to support the ongoing protests that began in  November 2019 and to celebrate Rajavi’s freedom from the Shah’s prison.

They also made it clear that the supported the activities of the MEK’s “Resistance Units” in Iran, who have been plastering large banners of  Rajavi up in Tehran and other cities, often with quotes like “The world should know that Massoud Rajavi is our leader” and “The end of the mullahs’ tyranny is near” written on them.
