online assembly : coronavirus outbreak in Iran and regime’s inaction
Scandinavian-Iranian health professionals including physicians, dentists, nurses and other medical staff and supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), held a large online assembly on Saturday April 11.
The medical staff and NCRI supporters participated in this online assembly from 300 points in Sweden.
They pointed out that while according to official figures, 4357 Iranians have lost their lives, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, based on reports by the network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced that at least 25,000 had died as a result of Covid-19.

This online assembly was also attended by dignitaries from several European as well as Nordic countries.
Panelists discussed the terrible impact of the coronavirus crisis on Iran’s social and political situation, as well as the increasing loss of lives under the mullahs’ regime. In addition to the increasing death toll across Iran, they also referred to the serious consequences that political prisoners and their families endure as the coronavirus continues to spread across Iran.
Dr. Alejo Vidal Quadras, former European Parliament first Vice President was the first speaker of this event. “The regime claims total death toll today is around 4500 when on the bases on accurate info we receive daily from inside Iran across 230 cities in all 31 provinces, actual number is well beyond 24 thousand it is incredible that regime pretends it has crisis under control.”

“The regime is the most dangerous virus and terrorist state against the people we have to raise our voice and do something forcefully against this problem. Political prisoners are at risk of contracting the virus and mass murder,” he added.
Dr. Behrouz Omid in Norway was another speaker of this event. “We’re together against the coronavirus and regime of Iran, we can break them both! Iranian communities in the Scandinavian countries are with you, supporting regime change in Iran,” he said.

Lars Rise former member of parliament of Norway also addressed this event. He highlighted the priority of doing the right thing by the people and not calculating other interests. “The coronavirus death closes to 25 Iranians, making it among top countries in the world with most People per capita,” he added.
Mr. Struan Stevenson, a former MEP from Scotland also participated in this online conference and condemned the Iranian regime’s decision to send people back to work, kids to school while the coronavirus spreads. He stressed that the “Iranian regime should not be funded.”
Mr. Kimmo Sasi former minister of trade and member of Parliament from Finland also addressed this webinar, expressing solidarity with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s president-elect, call for release of all prisoners in Iran to save them from the coronavirus. “Most important Human Rights is the right to life but prisons are extremely in bad situation,” he added.
Next speaker, Mr. Gunnar Hökmar, a former Member of Parliament from Sweden said: “Dictators hate, fear the truth. It’s a dictator’s way of dealing with bad news, covering and lying and punishing those who try for truth of the coronavirus like in Iran.”
Italy’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Giulio Terzi also addressed this conference. While condemning the regime’s criminal cover-up of the coronavirus outbreak he said: “The Iranian government has created a biological weapon of mass destruction from the coronavirus in Iran.” He also quoted Mrs. Rajavi as saying that not everybody understands that the bigger problem of the people is the regime itself.
NCRI Rep in Nordic countries, Parviz Khazae also participated in this conference. He said: “There’s a comparison between 3 big pandemics in history of mankind and how it affects us. Millions perished, those surviving mobilized and today with the coronavirus the people of Iran want to overthrow the regime.”
Mehdi Abrishamchi, NCRI’s Chairman of Peace Commission elaborated the coronavirus outbreak in Iran and referred to the execution of Mostafa Salimi, a Kurdish political prisoner by the clerical regime in Iran after trying to escape prisoned to protect himself of coronavirus infection.
