Pandeli Majko Speaks After Conviction of Iran Regime’s Diplomat-Terrorist by Belgian Court

Pandeli Majko, Minister of State For Diaspora, former Prime Minister of Albania addressed an online global conference on the conviction of Iran’s diplomat-terrorist Assadollah Assadi by a Belgian court for attempting to bomb the 2018 Free Iran gathering in Paris.

On February 4, 2021, simultaneous with the court ruling against the Iranian regime’s diplomat-terrorist, Assadollah Assadi, and his accomplices in Antwerp, Belgium, a global online conference was held, where Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and dozens of prominent figures from various European countries, the United States and Canada, joined thousands of Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) members based in Ashraf-3 (Albania) as well as the supporters of the Iranian Resistance worldwide.

The Belgian court rejected Assadollah Assadi’s claim of diplomatic immunity and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. The three intelligence agents, Nasimeh Naami, Mehrdad Arefani, and Amir Saadouni, were sentenced to 18, 17, and 15 years in prison, respectively. Their Belgian citizenships was also revoked.

Pandeli Majko—Minister of State, former Prime Minister of Albania

Dear friends, the evaluation of the state starts from how we respect the international rules. This relationship with international rules defines the status of the state.

Office of Tehran presents itself time after time as a victim of violating international rules. Today, with the title that is taking place in Belgium against the diplomats of the Iranian regime, it shows a dramatic picture. This is a clear view of the misuse of the international law by the Office of Tehran. The trial proved the involvement of the state structure of the Iranian regime in a terrorist act in the heart of the European Union. The trial in Belgium is an important act.

This trial clearly separates the role of the victim and the protagonist of violence. Today, the trial in Belgium has placed the Iranian regime under a sales charge. As such, this process is of great importance. It is more important than a statement or a protest note.

Office of Tehran must now face an unprecedented situation in international relations. Tehran will have diplomats jailed by a court order, charged with acts of terrorism. Having diplomats in prison on such serious charges is an expression of the misuse of the International trust toward the state. Today’s event is very important. The imprisonment of the Iranian diplomats who have carried out official orders today clarifies Iran’s international status. He points out why Iranian state leaders have imprisoned their country.

Iran leaders today are faced with international law and the public opinion at home and abroad. This is a cost that should not be paid by the Iranian people. Such a situation, stand with the Iranian people and their desire for regime change by supporting the democratic alternative and the plan and the platform of president, Maryam Rajavi. Thank you very much.
