Int’l Online Session Marks Ramadan, Condemns Tehran’s Fundamentalism

International Online Conference Marks Ramadan, Condemns Iranian Regime’s Fundamentalism

A long slate of international dignitaries took part in an online conference on Wednesday, April 14, observing the holy month of Ramadan and declaring interfaith solidarity in the face of fundamentalism that is brewed and spread by the regime ruling Iran.

Tehran’s mullahs have long been described as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. One main method used in this ongoing campaign has been the extremist and fundamentalist misinterpretation of Islam in order to advance their own fanatical interests inside Iran and across the region.

The Live International Conference for Ramadan began with the reading of the Quran by melody.

We devote our best wishes to this holy month for the Iranian Resistance and for Maryam Rajavi, so they may reach freedom through their struggle.

Today, the pandemic has changed the face of many countries but Iran’s case is different. The regime ruling Iran has deliberately been seeking massive human casualties to prevent popular protests. It has used the Coronavirus as a shield to fend off uprisings to the extent that the mullahs’ supreme leader Ali Khamenei declared a ban on purchase of vaccines from the U.S., Britain and France. The ruling mullahs turn a blind eye to the warnings and requests of specialist physicians meant to confront the Coronavirus and to reduce the fatalities it causes.

In reality, the Iranian people simultaneously face two monsters: the virus of religious fascism and the Coronavirus.

Iran’s ruling mullahs lack the very value that is the criterion for human dignity, the value that the Quran has emphasized, namely, piety.

The mullahs’ evil ideology consists of exporting of terrorism and fundamentalism to countries in the region to preserve the regime’s internal and external balance of power.

They have imposed compulsory religion and a series of religious forms of discrimination. They have established misogyny and a gender apartheid. They have monopolized the country’s economy, and engaged in savage plunder and exploitation.

Their four-decade long record of crimes and oppression reveals [the mullahs] as being the pharaohs of this era: The execution of 120,000 political opponents, the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners, and the slaughter of at least 1,500 young men and women during the November 2019 uprising.

No one has forgotten the regime’s chants and cries in support of the “oppressed.” Now, look at the extensive plunder and corruption they have imposed on Iran… Indeed, who has said that Islam means keeping millions of Iranians hungry in order to set up an arsenal of missiles and develop a nuclear bomb? Is brutalizing Afghan refugees, throwing them into rivers, and burning their cars Islamic?

Today, the ruling religious fascism in Iran has stepped into a phase of failures and defeat despite all the bloodshed and clampdown that it has committed. Yes, the time has come for the decline and defeat of religious fundamentalism and reactionary ideology.

Clearly, so long as the clerical regime has not been overthrown, it will not abandon repression, religious discrimination, and misogyny. It will not abandon its meddling and crimes in Middle East countries because it relies on these policies for its survival.

But there is a solution to this ominous calamity which has taken hostage the destinies of Middle East countries and poses the greatest threat to global peace and security. The solution is the overthrow of the mullahs’ religious fascism by the Iranian Resistance and through the uprising of the Iranian people.

The fight against dictatorship will not only serve the Iranian people but also people in neighboring regions. The Iranian Resistance provides an alternative to dictatorships.

This is the specific characteristic of the Iranian Resistance. It has enormous experience and has made enormous sacrifices for the Iranian people. Even those who are not Iranian wish success for this noble cause. And this is why we consider it as our shared cause.

As Palestinians we are paying attention to what you are suffering in Iran because the killing and arrests that the regime is doing. We are also suffering the same killing and capturing and occupation. We will stand together against the dark forces that spread destruction in the Middle East. We respect the people of Iran who have made many sacrifices for their freedom and continue to fight.

The mullahs cannot deprive the people of their dreams. We support you and our friends in the Iranian nation to achieve security and noble values that the MEK represents.

For decades, the Iranian regime has oppressed its people and stripped its citizens of their rights. We are concerned about the continued use of torture against Iranian protesters.

We know the terrorist threats of the Iranian regime in Albania have continued. Albanian authorities have condemned these activities. We are working to support the human rights of the Iranian people and to support the cause of the MEK.  I hope that very soon, we will be in a free Iran.

Bassam Al-Omoush, former Jordanian Minister and former Ambassador to Iran

Bassam Al-Omoush, former Jordanian Minister and former Ambassador to Iran

Why does the Iranian regime need to kill Syrians and Iraqis and Yemeni people? This is not Islam. We want a civil government that works for the people, not steal from them. We need to share power in the country. They are using Islam to control the people and this is not acceptable.

When I was an ambassador to Iran, I tried to improve the relations between Jordan and Iran, but [the Iranian regime] was not interested, so I had to return to my country. I hope that God supports the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom.

Riad Yassin Abdallah, Former Yemeni Foreign Minister and Ambassador to France

The Iranian regime’s militias show no mercy toward the people. They are not looking for peace. No one can trust them. They are butchering thousands of people. They are planting bombs and depriving the people of food.

I invite all our brothers and friends to support and pray for our nation. We need to understand that what they are doing is not supporting peace and security and is not related to any religion.

Ahmed Al-Jarallah, Editor-in-Chief of the Al-Siyasa newspaper and Dean of Kuwaiti Press

On the occasion of the holiest of months — the month of Ramadan, I congratulate the Iranian people and wish them lasting good. These people are suffering due to their backward regime, which has exhausted the people and the great Iranian state.

Also, I congratulate to Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, resistance leader. We hope she takes over the reins of leadership for these great people who are suffering from the woes and intelligence massacres of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The Iranian regime dreams of occupying Arab countries. But they will fail. They will be isolated. This regime has had a negative impact on the entire world. Other regimes failed in this regard. The Iranian regime will too. I would like to thank to Iranian Resistance and express my support.

This regime is harmful for the region, Arab and Islamic countries, and other nations. This is the right time to review what is inside Iran, particularly the production of weapons of destruction which Tehran uses to fight against countries in the region.

Thank you to the esteemed lady – Maryam Rajavi. I wish she takes over the mantle of power in this country for the evils in this region to end; especially since the region is known for the cooperation and good relations between its countries.

The people of Iran have been living under the tyrannical regime for 40 years. They have built their rule on false interpretations of Islam. We wish all the success for the people of Iran and their return to their true culture. The people of Iraq support you in your cause. Victory is very close.

The Iraqi people will not allow any support of the mullahs and do not endorse concessions to the Iranian regime during the nuclear negotiations. This will only worsen the suffering of the people of Iran and the region. The world must support the Iranian people and their Resistance, not the regime.

We are experiencing similar sufferings and share the dream of living in our free land under a democratic rule. How does this regime commit all these crimes, arresting and torturing people for objecting to their terrorist policies? Even civilians in the region have not been spared of the regime’s terrorism.

Where in the Quran does it justify killing people and violating human rights? These policies of the regime are having a negative impact on the lives of the Iranian people, wasting their money and depriving them of their rights.

The MEK and Maryam Rajavi have had a very big role in uncovering the evil schemes of the Iranian regime. This organization has very good relations with neighboring countries and they have historic ties with the people of Palestine.

I call on all Arab nations who have suffered from the terrorism of the Iranian regime to stand with the people of Iran and to support the Iranian Resistance.

God would fulfill all the hopes that have been represented by speakers who spoke here. The main hope and prayer is that we ask God to fulfill all these wishes by removing the worst evil in the region, the evil that is threatening the entire world.

The Iranian regime poses a threat to all countries in the region. They wish to establish their fundamentalist rule in all countries of the region.

Our message is that the real Islam is a religion of advancement and peace. The Iranian people are the first to suffer from the mullahs’ regime. This evil extends to the region through the regime’s militias.

The Iranian revolution was supposed to free the Iranian people from the Shah’s regime, not to establish the dictatorship of the mullahs that has destroyed Iran and the countries of the region.

The Iranian regime tries to portray itself as the protector of Islamic countries. But the truth is far from that. The truth is the militias of the Iranian regime that is spreading terrorism across the Arab and Islamic countries.

The regime is not the protector of Shiites. They are the oppressors of Shiites. After all these decades of bloodshed, how can we say that this regime represents Islam? We must help bring an understanding of the realities on the ground. Most of the people in the region know the danger of this regime. We wish this resistance movement to be successful in bringing peace and stability to the region.

This bloody regime has used all tools to prevent peaceful coexistence between the people of Iran and the region. This regime does not support Islam. It is against Islam and against the interests of the country.

In the past 42 years, the mullahs has oppressed the people of Iran, especially the Kurdish people, who have suffered much. The mullahs are committing crimes against minorities.

Mohamad Nazir Hakim, Former Secretary General of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces

Mohamad Nazir Hakim, Former Secretary General of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces

The Iranian people have been subjected to the tyrannical rule of the mullahs. The mullahs’ regime has always considered Syria its 35th province to ensure its “Shia” project overlooks the Mediterranean coast.

But the Iranian and Syrian people do not believe the regime’s narrative, and their resistance movements present hope that goes beyond the regime’s bloodshed. Glory to the great Iranian people who have not given in to the mullahs’ rule.

We in the Syrian resistance share the goals of the Iranian Resistance. We complement each other. We are brothers. The mullahs regime, your time is over. Long live the Iranian Resistance. Freedom to the people of Iran and Syria.

Tahar Boumedra Human rights lawyer, former chief of UN human rights mission in Iraq

Tahar Boumedra Human rights lawyer, former chief of UN human rights mission in Iraq

The regime of Iran kills in an unprecedented manner. 30,000 political prisoners were executed in the summer of 1988. This is the worst massacre in Iran’s modern history. The massacre did not stop there. It continues to this day. Let’s not forget the killing of 1,500 protesters in November 2019.

The crimes of the mullahs’ regime did not stop at Iran’s borders. They extended to its neighboring countries, to Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and even to Europe. The role of Qassem Soleimani needs not to be recalled. Nouri Maliki’s crimes on behalf the regime against the residents of Ashraf are well documented.

The trial of Assadollah Assadi in Belgium is proof that the regime is still active in implementing Khomeini’s fatwa to eliminate opponents.

The Muslim world and the international community needs to be aware that the ideology of the mullahs is spreading sectarianism and hatred. A regime change in Iran is a victory for non-political Islam that respects human rights and dignity.

Rt. Rev. Bishop John Pritchard

The regime is misusing religion to carry out atrocities. Activists of all sorts are being arrested and sentenced to long periods of prison or even executed over bogus charges of “waging war against God.” Christians are not allowed to observe their faith in public. Their homes are raided and belongings are confiscated simply because they are Christian.

We reaffirm our belief in freedom of religion in Iran, which is enshrined in Madam Rajavi’s ten-point plan. We call on the international community to take action for the release of all those who are being held in Iran’s prisons unjustly.

We stand in solidarity and we highlight these abuses and call for a fact finding mission to travel to Iran and inspect prisons and meet with prisoners and prisoners of conscience. The regime’s leaders must be held to account for their atrocities.

Dr. Khaled Alyamani, Former Foreign Minister of Yemen

Dr. Khaled Alyamani, Former Foreign Minister of Yemen

I hope this holy month of Ramadan will be a step forward to freeing the people of Iran and Yemen. The Iranian regime is exporting terrorism to the region. They are destabilizing the regional and international peace.

The regime is violating international law by using their weapons in Saudi Arabia. Iran’s wealth should be used for the welfare of the Iranians, not to support nuclear projects and destabilize regional and global security.

There is no doubt that Iranian women suffer like other women, but what we witnessed in our last gathering was heart-rending. We hope that all these corrupt regimes that are destroying lives will be removed. The regime has killed 400 women in the 2019 protests. Attacking women is attacking entire families.

I wish you success and hope that you will go to a free Iran led by a woman who has been patient and strong, and has been defending this humanitarian cause.

Iran needs you. The whole Middle East needs you so that Iran can live in democracy and can play its role as the vanguard of civilization. We can only think and reflect and wish for those souls who sacrificed themselves.

They are alive today. Their sacrifice is keeping the cause alive. Everyone places their hope in your struggle. This is not just your struggle. It is the struggle of the entire humanity.

Today, when the world is threatened by fundamentalism, it’s more important than ever to have this inter-religious dialogue. You are all dear to me and I know how hard you work to have Iran become a democratic country, and how hard you fight against fundamentalism.

And this is why I will always be at your side. Iran needs a society at peace that enables each Iranian citizen to live decently.

This resistance and force and hope to change the Iranian regime will eventually bring about this change. This fascist regime is concerned about this organization and considers them its worst threat.

This resistance will be victorious and will have support from inside and outside Iran. Iranians agree that this regime has to go. The MEK is moving forward to change this regime to liberate the Iranian people.

Struan Stevenson, former MEP, President of EP Delegation for Relations with Iraq 2009-2014, President of EIFA

The Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq has caused objections by the Iraqis. Iraqis are fed up with Iran. Under orders from Tehran, Soleimani led the popular mobilization forces to lead a genocide against Iraq’s Sunni population. Soleimani was a terrorist and his elimination was entirely justified. The elimination of Abu Mahdi Muhandes has left the Iran-backed militia leaderless.

Iraq’s prime minister is also refusing to kotow to Iran. Mustafa Kadhimi has to walk a tightrope. Iran’s militias are attacking U.S. troops and Saudi facilities. Kadhimi’s task is becoming more difficult.

Iran has become a satellite of China. The deal will incorporate military development between the two nations. The China-Iran deal is also complicating the Iran-U.S. relations. The terms of JCPOA are obsolete.

The Biden Administration must design a new paradigm with Iran and the EU must end its groveling appeasement policy toward Iran. Iran’s neighbors have to become more assertive. They should close Iran’s embassies. The mullahs must learn that their meddling will not be tolerated. Iran-backed militias are falling apart.

Marc Ginsberg, former US Ambassador to Morocco and White House Middle East Adviser

Marc Ginsberg, former US Ambassador to Morocco and White House Middle East Adviser

This should be a period of blessing and peace to people of all faiths. The Iranian regime carries out atrocities under the banner of Islam. And we all know this is not Islam. The mullahs do not practice peace. They practice war. They practice vengeance.

Those of us who have come to know Madam Rajavi, the MEK and NCRI know that her leadership is true Islamic leadership. Like all Abrahamic religions, the Islam that Madam Rajavi practices seeks to remove the shackles of human bondage.

It’s important for all of us to recognize the continuous dangers that the Tehran regime poses to the Middle East and across the globe. Despite all concessions made by Europe and the U.S. to this regime, the minute that the ink was dry on that agreement, the Ayatollahs were cheating on the commitments that they signed up for. They continue to engage in bomb making, launching ballistic missiles, and crack down on protesters.

Anyone who believes that Iran is not determined to build a nuclear bomb is sadly mistaken. Anyone who thinks they want to establish peace in the Middle East is sadly mistaken. The regime continues to operate with impunity with these terrorist organizations.

Madam Rajavi represents the most viable and democratic alternative to this regime.

The terrorist regime of Iran has harmed the world and the Middle East by meddling in their countries. It is spreading its poison all across the world. What the MEK and Madam Maryam Rajavi are doing is a great goal that history will remember.

This is a regime that is based on encouraging bloodshed under the banner of Islam. Islam is unconnected with what they are doing. Our version of Islam is tolerance and peace and love. History will remember what Madam Rajavi, the great freedom fighter, is doing.

Dr. Mohammad Alhaj, former Jordanian MP

This regime has divided the Islamic world into Sunnis and Shiites. This regime has turned the region into internal bloodshed. They are spending billions on waging war while the Iranian people live in poverty.

The MEK has a clear plan for a free and democratic Iran that endorses peaceful coexistence with its neighbors.

Mohamed Askar, Former Human Rights Minister of Yemen

Mohamed Askar, Former Human Rights Minister of Yemen

The mullahs’ regime has turned back our country for ages. Our children will only remember war from these seven years. Yemen has an extreme humanitarian problem and this has been caused by the regime of Iran. This is the fourth capital that has fallen to war due to their policies.

Peace is a very essential goal that the Yemenis are seeking. This peace requires pressure on the Iranian regime to lift its hand from Yemen.

The mullahs in Tehran are following a project of death, not life; war not peace, and destruction not construction. Peace in the Middle East will not be established through another nuclear agreement between the West and Iran. Peace requires supporting the hopes of the people of Iran and the region.
