Geneva—November 24, Iranian Resistance Supporters Rally in Support of the UN Fact-Finding Mission, Supporting the Iran Revolution

Geneva—November 24, Iranian Resistance Supporters Rally in Support of the UN Fact-Finding Mission, Supporting the Iran Revolution

Geneva, Switzerland—November 24, 2022: At the same time as the 35th special session, the UN Human Rights Council, freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance (NCRI and MEK) gathered in front of the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva to support the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people.

Iranians called for the creation of a fact-finding mission to investigate the human rights situation in Iran under the rule of the mullahs.

In their demonstration in Geneva, Iranians demanded the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime with slogans, including, “We support the uprising of the Iranian people from Zahedan to Tehran and Kurdistan.”

They called to the international community to adopt a firm policy against the dictatorship of the mullahs.

Freedom-loving Iranians in Geneva also honored the memory of Mahsa Amini and the martyrs of the Iran Revolution, especially Kurdistan martyrs, in recent days.

It is worth mentioning that The 35th special session of the Human Rights Council was held following an official request submitted on November 11 by Germany and Iceland, as well as the support from over 40 other states.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI, welcomed the formation of the Fact-finding Commission and called for an inspection of the secret and known prisons of the mullahs’ regime.

The NCRI President-elect added that the absolute affirmative vote for the formation of this commission by the member countries of the United Nations Human Rights Council points to an international consensus against the clerical regime. This necessary step in dealing with crimes against humanity must be completed by taking the next step, i.e., referring the dossier to the United Nations Security Council.
