Dr. Massoumeh Bolurchi Remarks to the Munich Rally in Support of a Democratic, Secular Republic in Iran

On February 17, 2023, a grand rally of freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance (NCRI and MEK) was held at Max-Jozef-Platz, in front of the security conference in Munich.

Several German Parliament members and political personalities attended the rally, which addressed supporting the Iranian people’s demands for freedom and democracy.

Dr. Massoumeh Bolurchi, NCRI Representative in Germany, gave a speech to the demonstrators at the rally.

The full extent of NCRI Representative in Germany Masumeh Bolurchi’s speech is as follows:

Greetings to all of you supporters of the resistance who have gathered in Munich to echo the voice of the Iranian people, those who rose up to overthrow the medieval clerical regime. The uprising, despite all the crackdown and oppressive measures taken, has now entered its sixth month.

The people of Iran, with their eloquent slogans, especially the slogan “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader”, resonated with society from Tehran to Baluchistan and from Isfahan to Kurdistan, expressed their desire to overthrow this regime. They have shown their desire for the establishment of a democratic republic. They have clearly stated that they are strongly opposed to any type of dictatorship, including the return of the overthrown monarchy.

Indeed, our country is on the verge of a fundamental change led by women against the medieval and misogynistic regime. One that promises a bright future that is guaranteed in the 10-point plan of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. A plan that is assuring free elections, equality between men and women, abolition of the death penalty, and guarantees the rights of the oppressed nationalities of our country as well as a non-nuclear Iran.

There is no doubt that this uprising and this glorious struggle has not been and is not a spontaneous event. Rather, it has its roots in the four decades of resistance of the bravest and most dedicated MEK members and other freedom fighters of this land. In 1988 alone, the clerical regime massacred 30,000 political prisoners who were steadfast in their beliefs. Most of whom stemmed from the Mujahideen-e- Khalq Organization.

The Iranian Resistance has been demanding for years that the Revolutionary Guards be designated on the foreign terrorist groups’ list and today, we are reiterating this request. Europe must proscribe the IRGC as a terrorist organization and close the embassies of this regime, which are actually nests of espionage and terror, and expel the diplomats and other agents of this regime who are engaged in various plots against the opposition in various pretexts on European soil.

This is a very negative precedent for the Munich Security Conference, which has invited a person who inherited his reputation from the infamy of his dictator father. Someone whose surroundings are cold-blooded and torturers like the notorious Parviz Sabeti, who is one of the biggest criminals in Iran’s modern history.

The attendance of the ousted Shah’s son at the Munich Security Conference will not change anything in the Iranian equation. Inviting him will only tarnish the image of the MSC and leave behind a shameful legacy. Of course, it has another effect, and it gives the regime of the mullahs some extra leverage to deflect the uprising and suppress it.

As far as the future of Iran is concerned, the people of Iran and their organized Resistance, the Resistance Units, and the rebellious youths are the ones who will shape the future of this country. Relying on themselves, they will not allow opportunists and the remnants of the detested and overthrown monarchy to copy Khomeini’s playbook from 1979 which distracted the democratic revolution of the Iranian people and ruined it. Yes, history will not repeat itself.

In the end, let us remember the words of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”.

With firm determination, we will bring about freedom, democracy, equality, and active participation of women in political leadership and the flourishing of the talent of the youth to build a prosperous and advanced Iran.

Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader

Long live the democratic revolution of the people of Iran
