Pescara, Italy—February 18, 2023: The Mayor and City Officials Attended Demonstrations in Support of the Iran Revolution

Pescara, Italy—February 18, 2023: The Mayor and City Officials Attended Demonstrations in Support of the Iran Revolution

Pescara, Italy—February 18, 2023: In the city of Pescara, Italy, a demonstration was held at the invitation of the mayor of this city in support of the uprising of the Iranian people. In addition to the mayor, the head of the city council and officials of various institutions of Abruzzo province were present in this demonstration, which many Italian citizens attended.

In this event, the mayor and some officials of Pescara gave a speech in support of the uprising of the Iranian people and the uprising’s demand for democracy and freedom.
The representative of the Iranian Youth Association in Italy was also one of the speakers of this demonstration.

Marcello Antonelli, the head of the Pescara city council, addressed the demonstrators and said: First, I want to thank and appreciate those who tried to hold this demonstration. It would help if you remembered that a few weeks ago, we passed a statement to the city council, which was very popular. It was important.

Marcello Antonelli

This statement, which was signed by the mayor and all city council members, showed our protest against the mullahs’ regime. We supported those who lost their lives for the right to freedom. What do you tell us about the pictures of Iranian youth that we see? It is said that men and women of Iran wanted to stand up for freedom and democracy.

The struggle of Iranian people for freedom and democracy is also the struggle of Pescara people. Our presence together with the mayor expresses the same thing that the city of Pescara was and is present when freedom and human rights are at stake. Long live freedom and democracy; long live free Iran.
