Background
Protests erupted in Iran in September 2022 following the brutal and tragic murder of Mahsa Amini in police custody. Demonstrations soon became political, with people calling out the entire regime as the source of all economic and social problems in Iran.
The Iranian people have continued what many consider a revolution in the making, despite the regime’s heavy crackdown. This continuation indicates this uprising is well organized.
This fact was confirmed by many Iranian state-affiliated outlets and officials, who acknowledged the role of the MEK and its Resistance Units Network as the driving force behind this uprising.
