June 20, 2023: In the aftermath of the attack on Ashraf 3, freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized protest rallies outside Albanian embassies and consulates in various countries.
These protest rallies were held in Washington, DC, Paris, London, Stockholm, The Hague, Vienna, Berlin, Bern, Rome, Oslo, and Copenhagen.
On Tuesday, June 20, more than 1,000 Albanian policemen, acting on behalf of the religious fascist regime in power in Iran, launched an attack on Ashraf 3. During the raid, they forcefully entered the premises, causing significant damage to doors, closets, and equipment. Tear gas and pepper spray were deployed against the residents, resulting in injuries to over 100 people, while numerous computers were also damaged or confiscated.
Tragically, Mr. Ali Mostashari, a member of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), lost his life in the assault. Several individuals are now in critical condition and have been transferred to Mother Teresa Hospital in Tirana.
In response to these distressing events, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) issued a statement, drawing parallels between the actions of the Albanian police and the past criminal attacks by Nouri al-Maliki forces on Camp Ashraf in Iraq from 2009 to 2015.
The Iranian Resistance has called upon the United States government and the United Nations to condemn this heinous and unlawful behavior, as they have previously pledged to protect the safety and well-being of Ashraf’s residents. Furthermore, the NCRI urges these entities to provide necessary guarantees to prevent such flagrant violations of international treaties, including the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the European Convention on Human Rights.
