Paris, July 1, 2023:  Coinciding with the gathering of global leaders and legislators at the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)’s Headquarters in Auvers-sur-Oise for a significant assembly, a grand rally of Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance took place in Vauban Square.

Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance united to express unwavering solidarity with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi‘s ten-point plan for bringing about regime change in Iran and establishing freedom and democracy.

Mr. Jean-Pierre Brard former French MP, addressed at the grand rally in Paris to the demonstrators.

The translation of full remarks text of Jean-Pierre Brard Former French MP, follows:

Dear friends, good day. We were supposed to be 100,000 today, but the mullahs struck a deal with the French government, which bowed its head, which bowed its spine, and which banned the demonstration. Fortunately, courageous administrative judges emerged, reasoning in terms of principles, rights, and delivering a lesson in democracy to the police prefect. The decision of the police prefect was overturned, and we were able to gather, but the police prefect is a sore loser. He appealed. And while we are here, in appeal, the court is convened to determine if we have the right to gather.

Well, the answer, you have brought it. You are here, and 234 years after the French Revolution, as my colleague mentioned, we are the demonstration that here in Paris, the heart of people ready to fight for freedom, for their own and for others, resonates. And we must never forget that you cannot silence a people fighting for their rights.

234 years ago, the French dismantled the symbol of arbitrariness, the Bastille fortress. And 234 years later, the heirs of the ideas of the French Revolution, we, you, are here for a new cause today. That of the Iranian people fighting for their freedom. And it’s a great honor for us to be with you today to share a few thoughts.

First and foremost, the Iranian regime claims its position is unshakable. The only ones who believe it is the powerful of this world, who submit because they prefer sacrificing the rights of the Iranian people. You know, the high-ranking officials, many of them, are numbed. Do you know what numbs them? The smell of oil. And because of oil, they bow down before the ayatollahs and trample upon the Iranian people.

Peoples always have memories. You will remember. The Iranian people will remember who stood with them during the dark hours of the mullahs’ dictatorship. Together, we are building, we will build, a new world, one that grants rights to those who have none, to those who believe in culture, education, and the right to health for all.

So, we demonstrate our strength, and you demonstrate that in Iran, facing dictatorship, there is an alternative, represented by the NCRI and its main force, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. This resistance is rooted in over 40 years of organized struggle, marked by tens of thousands of executions.

The failure of transient alliances reinforces the idea that the necessary unity of common principles among democratic forces rejecting all forms of dictatorship is in progress. And you know, this cannot be stopped. Women, as mentioned earlier, play a leading role in the battle against the misogynistic regime of the mullahs.

Unfortunately, the clerical regime will not hesitate to resort to more murders and crimes to stay in power. That’s why our mobilization is urgent. Our gathering is essential to help the Iranian people overcome more swiftly. Faced with this reality, it’s crucial to recognize justly that the NCRI, the MEK, have all the attributes to succeed the mullahs’ regime and to open a new horizon in Iran. Popular support is needed. The MEK, the NCRI, have popular support in Iran.

And only those who sympathize with the mullahs dare to say that the NCRI is not representative. Who’s fueling the uprising today? Who’s protesting? Who’s writing slogans on the walls? Who’s burning effigies of the Supreme Ayatollah? It’s the Iranian people, inspired by the NCRI, this National Council of Resistance of Iran, presenting itself as a formidable and reliable, credible alternative to the regime. The NCRI possesses a coherent structure and organization, recognized leadership, a clear and unambiguous platform, a national network within the country through which we were informed, for example, about the ayatollahs’ preparation for nuclear mastery.

So, today is a step. Modestly, in Paris, we are gathered despite the ayatollahs and their allies who are here. You know, in our country, France, there have always been two Frances. One on the right side and one on the wrong side. During the Revolution, there were those who were with the king and those who were with the revolutionaries. During the Resistance, there were those who were with Hitler’s friends and then there were those who were with the Resistance. And today, it’s the same. There are those who are with the Iranian patriots and there are those who are with their assassins.

We, we honor ourselves by being faithful to our history, standing by your side for the victory that will be shared. Because what is good for you is good for us too. So, all together, onward to the final struggle.

Chers amis, bonjour. Nous devions être 100 000 aujourd’hui, mais les mollahs se sont entendus avec le gouvernement français, qui a courbé la tête, qui a courbé l’échine, et qui a interdit la manifestation. Heureusement, il s’est trouvé des magistrats administratifs courageux, qui ont raisonné en termes de principes, de droits, et qui ont donné une leçon de démocratie au préfet de police. La décision du préfet de police a été annulée, et nous avons pu nous réunir, mais le préfet de police est un mauvais perdant. Il a fait appel. Et pendant que nous sommes ici, en appel, le tribunal est réuni pour savoir si nous avons le droit de nous réunir.

Et bien la réponse, vous l’avez apportée. Vous êtes ici, et 234 ans après la Révolution française, comme mon collègue disait, nous sommes la démonstration qu’ici, à Paris, vibre le cœur des gens qui sont prêts à se battre pour la liberté, pour la leur, mais aussi pour celle des autres. Et il ne faut jamais oublier qu’on ne peut pas bâillonner un peuple qui se bat pour ses droits.

Il y a 234 ans, les Français ont abattu le symbole de l’arbitraire, la forteresse de la Bastille. Et bien 234 ans après, les héritiers des idées de la Révolution française, nous, vous, nous sommes là pour aujourd’hui une cause nouvelle. C’est celle du peuple d’Iran qui se bat pour sa liberté. Et c’est un grand honneur pour nous d’être avec vous aujourd’hui pour partager quelques réflexions.
Tout d’abord, le régime iranien prétend que sa position est inébranlable.
Les seuls qui le croient, ce sont les puissants de ce monde qui se couchent parce qu’ils préfèrent sacrifier les droits du peuple iranien. Vous savez, les hauts dirigeants, pour nombre d’entre eux, sont anesthésiés. Vous savez par quoi ils sont anesthésiés? Par les odeurs de pétrole. Et à cause du pétrole, ils se mettent à plat-ventre devant les ayatollahs et ils marchent sur le peuple d’Iran.

Les peuples ont toujours de la mémoire. Vous vous rappellerez. Le peuple d’Iran se rappellera qui était avec lui aux heures sombres de la dictature des mollahs. Et ensemble, nous construisons, nous construirons un nouveau monde, celui qui donne des droits à ceux qui n’en ont pas, ceux qui croient à la culture, à l’éducation, aux droits à la santé pour tous.

Alors nous démontrons notre force et vous démontrez qu’en Iran, face à la dictature, il y a une alternative, celle qui est représentée par le CNRI et par sa force principale, l’organisation des Moudjahidines du peuple d’Iran. Cette résistance trouve ses racines dans plus de 40 années de lutte organisée, marquée par des dizaines et des dizaines de milliers d’exécutions.
L’échec des alliances éphémères renforce l’idée que l’unité nécessaire des principes communs parmi les forces démocratiques qui rejettent toutes les formes de dictature sont en marche. Et vous savez, on ne pourra pas arrêter cela. Les femmes, comme il a été dit tout à l’heure, dans cette magnifique bataille, jouent un rôle de premier plan dans la lutte contre le régime misogyne des Mollahs.

Malheureusement, le régime clérical n’hésitera pas à recourir à davantage de meurtres et de crimes pour rester au pouvoir. C’est pourquoi notre mobilisation est urgente. Notre rassemblement est indispensable pour aider le peuple d’Iran à vaincre plus rapidement. Face à cette réalité, il est essentiel de reconnaître justement que le CNRI, l’OMPI ont tous les attributs de la relève pour faire suite au régime des mollahs et pour qu’un horizon nouveau s’ouvre en Iran. Il faut le soutien populaire. L’OMPI, le CNRI a le soutien populaire en Iran.
Et il n’y a que ceux qui sympathisent avec les mollahs, qui osent dire que le CNRI n’est pas représentatif. Qui anime le soulèvement aujourd’hui? Qui manifeste? Qui va faire des inscriptions sur les murs? Qui brûle les effigies du grand Ayatollah? C’est le peuple d’Iran, inspiré par le CNRI, ce Conseil National de la Résistance qui se présente comme une alternative formidable et fiable, crédible au régime. Le CNRI possède une structure et une organisation cohérentes, un leadership reconnu, une plateforme claire et sans équivoque, un réseau national à l’intérieur du pays grâce auquel nous avons été informés par exemple de la préparation par les Ayatollahs de la maîtrise du nucléaire.

Alors, aujourd’hui c’est une étape. Modestement, à Paris, nous sommes réunis malgré les Ayatollahs et leurs alliés qui sont ici. Vous savez, dans notre pays, en France, il y a toujours eu deux Frances. Celle qui est du bon côté et celle qui est du mauvais. Pendant la Révolution, il y avait ceux qui étaient avec le roi et ceux qui étaient avec les révolutionnaires.
Pendant la Résistance, il y a ceux qui étaient avec les amis de Hitler et puis il y a ceux qui étaient avec la Résistance. Et aujourd’hui, c’est la même chose. Il y a ceux qui sont avec les patriotes iraniens et il y a ceux qui sont avec leurs assassins.
Nous, nous nous honorons de la fidélité à notre histoire d’être à votre côté pour la victoire qui sera commune. Parce que ce qui est bon pour vous, c’est bon pour nous aussi. Alors tous réunis en avant pour la lutte finale.
