Prominent French Notables Unite Against Iran's Regime Opposition Threats

In a statement, the Comité Français pour un Iran Démocratique (CFID), consisting of prominent French individuals representing diverse political backgrounds, has expressed deep concern regarding the Iranian regime’s covert activities aimed at undermining the primary force of the organized opposition, namely the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

The statement underscores the recent actions of Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the head of the Iranian government’s judiciary, who has been implicated in crimes against humanity, hasty trials, and executions. Ejei has, of late, advocated for the prosecution and extradition of key members of the resistance movement.

CFID is apprehensive that Ejei’s heightened attention to this movement suggests potential terrorist activities in Europe and an attempt to evade international legal accountability for leaders of the Iranian government.

CFID stresses that turning a blind eye to these transgressions equates to endorsing severe and ongoing human rights violations in Iran. The committee implores the United Nations, the European Union, and other international organizations to endorse the Iranian Resistance’s appeal for the establishment of an international tribunal tasked with prosecuting those responsible for crimes against humanity within the Iranian government.
