Iran lobby terrified of the national council of resistance of Iran (NCRI)

We know that the Iran lobby is terrified of the Iranian Resistance. We can see this in their constant attempts to slander dissidents through any means necessary in order to keep the Iranian Regime in power. But the reason why may surprise those who only hear about Iran through cable news.

Simply, the Iranian Resistance is unique among forces that seek to remove dictatorships from power. It not only advocates for regime change, but also represent the viable alternative to the mullahs.

Most revolutions fail because there is no stable government in place to take over, leading to chaos. The Iranian Resistance has formed a government-in-exile made up of several dissident groups (collectively known as the National Council of Resistance of Iran or NCRI) and it has working relationships with many of the world’s governments.

The NCRI is ready and willing to take over the governing of Iran when the mullahs fall until a free and fair election can be held – the NCRI estimates six months for this. They have already published the majority of their to-be-implemented laws, including the abolition of the death penalty and the disbanding of the military nuclear programme, so the world knows what to expect.

The Iran lobby needs to discredit the Resistance because they have a vested interest in the Regime’s existence and they know that the Resistance will provide regime change sooner or later.

Trita Parsi of the National Iranian American Council has dedicated much of his life to promoting the idea of a moderating force within the Regime. Of course, there has been no moderation from the Regime in the past 40 years, so why would we expect it now?

The Regime has been run in the same manner since it hijacked the revolution and now the mullahs benefit greatly from the money that they are able to steal from the Iranian people. They won’t change. So the NIAC must discredit anyone that opposes the mullahs and ignore the Regime’s abuses and the largescale dissent against the Regime.

The biggest target of the NIAC is the Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK), one of Iran’s oldest dissident groups, whom Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and current National Security Advisor John Bolton have addressed meetings of before. The lobby calls the MEK a terrorist cell or a cult, with no evidence for either, making it clear that this is not a place for facts.

Michael Tomlinson wrote on Iran Lobby: “One of the central tenets of the Iranian resistance movement as articulated by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which is the major umbrella group of Iranian dissident organizations, is that any movement towards regime change and democratization in Iran must begin and be grounded in the Iranian people.”

The NCRI is holding its annual global gathering in Paris on June 30, where regime change will be a big topic of discussion.
