Dear friends, I would like to extend my full support and solidarity with all of those who are fighting for a free and democratic Iran. We, in the European Parliament, have, for many years, been closely following your struggle against the religious dictatorship that has been ruling your country for nearly four decades.
This year the situation is very different in Iran, since late December we have witnessed mass protests and uprisings of all over Iran. It was initiated by the young people and now we see people of all ages and every sector of the society taking part in these protests. The Iranian top leaders have openly pointed to the significant influence of the PMOI and the movement that is led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi in these uprisings.
I think it is our duty here as elected politicians to openly support the democratic opposition against the tyrants. I therefore would like to express my strong support for your huge gathering that will be held on June 30th in Paris and I am sure the meeting will be a great success.
The best of all to all of you.
