Newt Gingrich: Two years ago we had an American Administration committed to shipping cash to a dictator, to easing up the sanctions and to diluting itself to what a dictator would do.
Today we have an administration that understands reality, which is determined to stop dictatorship, which is increasing the sanctions, and which I predict will get tougher every single month.
Newt Gingrich: So we mean to be very clear, we need to have a campaign to shame the European governments who are unwilling to support freedom and democracy.
We need to make clear that whatever money they’re making of a dictatorship it’s a terrible place to pay. We need to make clear that they are betraying the people in every single town in #Iran . We need to insist that they join the sanctions & tighten the sanctions even further
Our goal is not to start negotiations, we need to have a free #Iran that respects the rights of every individual. The Iranian regime is weaker than any other time.
I believe with all my heart that we are on the side of history. Human beings everywhere would rather govern themselves than suffering under a dictatorship that oppresses them and steals from them.
Freedom will come. It has been paid for by the blood, and the sweat of patriates willing to stand to dictatorship.
