Iran Freedom

Remarks by Pandeli Majko–Free Iran Global Summit, July 17, 2020

"Mojahedin’s members are not the problem of Iran, they are a flag of the future freedom of their country," said Pandeli Majko.

Minister of State, former Prime Minister of Albania Pandeli Majko joined the Online Free Iran Global Summit. In his remarks, Mr. Majko described members of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as members of Albania’s great family.

“Ashraf in Albania, you’re part of our family. MEK is the flag of the future freedom of their country. The MEK are the unwritten rule of freedom. They are the flag of hope. Today is a good day to be reminded of our responsibility. Hope to see you in Tehran,” he said.

The Iranian opposition coalition NCRI managed to hold this year’s annual gathering virtually on July 17. Given the novel coronavirus pandemic and its restriction, many dignitaries commended the NCRI’s ability and determination for connecting 30,000 locations to Ashraf-3, home to members of the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Here is the speech of Mr. Majko:

Today I stand before you not only as Albanian. I speak to you as a friend. I am here to speak for all those voices which cannot be heard: mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, and Albanian families. I want to say that Camp Liberty in Albania, you are part of our family. You are in our faith.

The Mujahedins (MEK) are not the problem of Iran, they are a flag of the future freedom of their country. Freedom, first of all, is humanity and hope. They are the unwritten rule of freedom. This is a reason why they are the flag of hope where the choices reflect their bravery.

Dear friends, every day is a good day to think about the responsibility in democracy. This is an expression of will in Iran. This is the matter of existence. It is a good day to think about the responsibility. Thank you for reminding this today, the day to be in Tehran together will be a good day too. Thank you and best wishes for all of you.
