Remarks by Valentina Leskaj–Iran Regime’s Terrorism Summit, July 20, 2020

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)  was held a global seminar on the Iranian regime’s terrorist operations during the third day of the “Free Iran Global Summit” on, July 20, 2020.

The conference under title, Terrorism by Iran’s Regime -Shut Down Tehran’s Embassies Abroad-Expel its Agents, Operatives, was held online, connecting thousands of locations throughout the world to Ashraf 3, Albania, home to the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). This conference is over the Iranian regime’s terrorist activities across the world, by using its embassies. The conference and its panelists urged the European countries to shut down the Iranian regime’s embassies, which are indeed emissaries of terror and nests of spies. The keynote speaker of this event is Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s President-elect.

The theme of the conference was the Iranian regime’s international terrorist activities. Participants called on the international community to shut down the regime’s embassies and expel its ‘diplomat-terrorists’.

Valentina Leskaj, Member of Albania’s Socialist Party Leadership, Former Vice Chair of the Council of Europe Assembly and Former Vice Speaker of Albanian Parliament joined the Online Free Iran Global Summitday 3. In her remarks, Ms Leskaj said, “I support NCRI and I support Madame Rajavi’s 10-point plan for the future of a free, secular and democratic Iran. It is our obligation, I would say, to stand on the right side, to stand on the right side of the people that they fight against the mullahs’ regime in Iran. ”

Here is the speech of Ms Valentina Leskaj:

Good afternoon, it’s an honor to be here today, and I believe it’s an honor and is a human obligation to join the voices that support the Iranian resistance, that they support resistance of people that they fight for democracy and for human rights and for a non-nuclear country. And this resistance, they don’t fight for themselves. They fight for the country. But I can say that this is beyond for all countries that they suffer under the dictatorship.

Iran now is in the most critical situation. In the most critical situation not only because of the pandemic fatalities, but because of the mullah regime atrocities with more than 70,000 dead or executed. And this is the history of Iranian people. And this is history of people that they lost family members they lost their friends, they lost their youth.

Something happened in June, and I think this is very important for the support of this resistance. The American Congress on 17th of June, 2020, the resolution 374 has been approved by the majority of Congress. And this is very important because declaration support the people that they fight for democracy, and they support the Iranian people’s aspiration for democracy, secular, and non-nuclear Republic of Iran. Resolution at the same time called on the nations to prevent malign activities of some diplomatic corps of the Iranian regime. As it has happened in Albania, when the Albanian government decide to expel the ambassador and some diplomats, that they have been engaged in some terrorist plots.

Again we say something about the people they live here in Albania in Ashraf 3 camp. They are people of courage. They are people that they didn’t wait for others to build their houses or their community when they came here. They are people that they show a model that they were able to build the true community and neighborhood and to live in harmony with the Albanian people, despite of the fact that they are Muslim or Christian, and this is very good message and very good example that they give in Albania, and they are able to give in their fight.

These people have shown that they respect human rights. These people have shown, people of resistance have shown that they respect women’s rights. And they have shown example by electing as a leader of the resistance a woman. A woman like Madame Rajavi. A woman leader in front of mullahs’ regime. And this is a very strong message. This is a very strong message not only for Iran but it’s a message for the region and beyond. And I can say that Madame Rajavi made possible to listen from the international community and to give the voice for voiceless people. And that’s the way I believe that with her leadership the future is in safe hands. Women are today at the forefront of the protests in Iran, and this is a very positive message and very good sign for the future of the free Iran. I support NCRI and I support Madame Rajavi’s 10-point plan for the future of a free, secular and democratic Iran. It is our obligation, I would say, to stand on the right side, to stand on the right side of the people that they fight against the mullahs’ regime in Iran.

I believe that the international community and I believe that the Europe will recognize the right of the Iranian people to establish freedom, democracy, in their own land. When you go to the Ashraf 3 camp here, you can read something that I like very much. They say that victory is ours, the future is ours. And I believe their slogan. And of course, I say that it’s time for a change in Iran and thank you very much.
