The activities of the NCRI and MEK have not been limited to rallies in Europe and U.S. In the past week, the MEK held a five-day event in Ashraf 3, Albania, where thousands of members of the opposition movement are located. Several conferences in Ashraf 3 examined the different facets of the struggle of the Iranian people and the MEK against the Iranian regime and discussed solutions to the challenges the regime poses to the Middle East region and the world.

Dignitaries from across the world attended the events in Ashraf 3, including Rudy Giuliani, lawyer to the U.S. president and former New York Mayor, former U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, former Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird, former French Foreign Ministers Bernard Kouchner and Michelle Alliot Marie, and many others.

Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi stressed in the main event that the final and sole solution for Iran is the overthrow of the religious dictatorship of the mullahs at the hands of the Iranian people and their resistance.

Mrs. Rajavi, who is President-elect of the NCRI, also stressed that while Iran is ruled by a tyrannical regime and while there can’t be any assemblies and demonstrations in Iran, and while there’s no free elections, the real criterion for assessing a movement is through its resistance.

In the past decades, the Iranian regime has arrested and executed more than 100,000 members and supporters of the MEK, yet the movement still stands and along with the NCRI, it is gaining momentum and influence with every passing day.

The events held in the past weeks are an extension of the Iranian people’s 120-year struggle for freedom. The NCRI, the MEK, and the network of MEK Resistance Units inside Iran will help the Iranian people achieve this sacred goal and rid Iran and the world of the tyrannical rule of the mullahs.
