During the last “Free Iran” rally held in Ashraf 3 in Albania (home to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, PMO / MEK), a number of prominent speakers took to the stage to voice their support for the people of Iran.
Former U.S. Ambassador to Morocco and White House Middle East Advisor Marc Ginsberg was one of the speakers. He is an avid supporter of the Iranian Resistance and he stands with the people of Iran in their quest for freedom, democracy and the respect of human rights.
He commended the leadership of the Resistance, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi for her outstanding leadership, reminding her that there are many ups and downs in all battles. He said: “You know Madame Rajavi, all of us were young once. We had dreams. On the portraits of each of our aspirations, there’s a field of dreams of hopes and aspirations. There are successes and there are failures. There are achievements as well as setbacks.”
Ambassador Ginsberg said that he and his colleagues have turned up to the Free Iran rally to support the Resistance in its aspirations, so that it can then lead the people of Iran to the same.
Speaking about his past, Ambassador Ginsberg said that when he worked for Senator Edward Kennedy, he learned that “the challenge of freedom and dignity for people who are oppressed is a lifetime of goals and aspirations and hard work”.
He also spoke about his time working for Senator Lieberman who is also a supporter of the Iranian Resistance and the people of Iran who wish to be free from the despotic leadership they are living under. He said that he, Senator Lieberman, and all of the Americans in attendance, believe in the capacity of the Iranian people and their resistance to achieve a free and democratic Iran. “I have one expression that I say in Persian: ‘Shoma Behtarini!’ You are the Best! We believe that we can help you to achieve what you wish to achieve,” he said.
Ambassador Ginsberg ended his speech saying: “I’m only a former ambassador. But the one thing that I do hope is that before I hang up my shingle that I will be able to see the day when a new U.S. Embassy will open in Tehran and that the people of Iran will say to the Americans.”
The Free Iran gathering is held every year. This one was on Saturday 13th July 2019. Many of the speakers voiced their support for Mrs. Rajavi, the Resistance and the people of Iran. Many of the speakers also expressed their optimism that Iran would soon be free, with many highlighting that even in the space of a year much progress had been made.
For more than 40 years, the people of Iran have been suppressed by the Iranian Resistance. The Resistance is fighting for their rights and has support from many parliamentarians, politicians and elected officials around the world. They, like Ambassador Ginsberg, are working in their own countries to change and direct policies towards supporting the people of Iran and condemning the regime for its belligerence.
There are calls for more international pressure to be put on the regime because as it is, the regime is rarely held to account for its belligerence.
