During 2020, as Iran continued to grapple with the coronavirus outbreak, the struggle for freedom continued across the country. In recent days, the Resistance Units, the network of the Iranian opposition movement inside Iran, continued to campaign for regime change, despite an atmosphere of repression. The Resistance Units are a network of activists affiliated with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), Iran’s longest-standing opposition movement.

They wrote:
Tehran— “You have to rebel to take back your rights.” / “Rise up to overthrow the regime of the Supreme Leader”

Mashhad— “The only way to freedom is to answer fire with fire” / “Disbanding the IRGC is necessary for the victory of the Iranian people” / “Rise up to overthrow the regime of the Supreme Leader” / “To the country’s youths, join the Resistance Units”

Karaj— “Hail to the martyrs, hail to protesters, hail to freedom and hail to the National Liberation Army

Tehran— “Down with the dictator”

Mashhad— “Disbanding the IRGC is necessary for the victory of the Iranian people”

Mashhad— “The mullahs must fear a revolt, and an uprising is near”

Abadan— “The only way to freedom is to answer fire with fire”

Eslamshahr— “The overthrow of the mullahs is possible through the Resistance Units”

Babol— “The only answer is fire”

Babol— “Down with the principle of the rule of the Supreme Leader”

Karaj— “Down with Khamenei, hail to freedom”
