MEK Activities To Marks 1979 Revolution

The Iranian Resistance Units and their supporters organised various activities across the country last week to mark the 42nd anniversary of the anti-monarchical revolution, in the cities of Bushehr, Borujen, Bonab, Isfahan, Ilam, Kermanshah, Kerman, Karaj, Mazandaran, Mahshahr, Shirvan, Sari, Tehran, Tabriz, Urmia, Yazd, and Zanjan.

The revolution unseated the Shah and was supposed to bring about democracy, but was usurped by Ruhollah Khomeini and the mullahs, who brought in a religious dictatorship.

Across the country, they handed out handwritten signs and wrote graffiti of the slogans:

In Tehran, Tabriz, and Zanjan, protesters put up larger posters of Iranian Resistance leaders Massoud and Maryam Rajavi that bore the slogan, “The rebels will pave the way for a new uprising”.

In Urmia, one woman held up a sign that read: “[Supreme Leader Ali] Khamenei must get lost; Iran doesn’t want you.”

Of course, it was not just about signs and slogans. The Resistance chose many activities that struck at the heart of the regime by destroying posters of regime officials and even the entrances of the suppressive force bases, with the intention of breaking the repressive atmosphere. This took place in 22 cities on February 10, including Ahvaz, Bandar Abbas, Chenaran, Hamadan, Isfahan, Kazerun, Masal, Mashhad, Neyshabur, Robat Karim, Tehran, Sabzevar, and Shirvan.

In Ahvaz and Bandar Abbas, they burned a banner with pictures of Khamenei and Khomeini, while in Sabzevar they set fire to a sign of the repressive Basij centre. In Neyshabur, they set light to a Khomeini poster, while in Chenaran, they burned a banner with images of Khomeini and Khamenei, that was linked to the regime’s ceremonies.

In Tehran, they set fire to a banner celebrating the regime’s anniversary and one of eliminated Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, while in Robat Karim, they set light to a poster of Khamenei.

In Mashhad, they torched the sign of the repressive Basij centre and the entrance to the Mostazafin Foundation, which steals public money for the regime’s malign actions. They also lit up a banner of Soleimani.

In Isfahan, they set fire to banners of Khomeini, Khamenei, and Soleimani, as well as a banner about the regime’s anniversary ceremonies, while in Hamedan, they torched a banner of Soleimani. In Kazerun, they lit up banners of Khamenei and Khomeini, while in Shirvan, they set fire to a poster of Soleimani and in Masal they burned a Khamenei banner.
