On Friday, May 28, 2021, simultaneous with the Iran Nuclear talks, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) held a rally against the Iranian regime in Vienna.
The protesters called the world community to hold Iran’s regime accountable for violating human rights and spending Iranian people’s assets on secret nuclear activities.
While warning against any concessions offered by the world community to the regime, Iranians stressed the need to hold the regime to account for its deceptive activities in acquiring nuclear weapons.
They reminded the European countries that the mullahs’ regime and its nuclear program threaten the world. “The threat of an atomic bomb will remain for as long as this regime is in power,” Iranians chanted.
Iranians also expressed their support for the growing calls for the nationwide boycott of the regime’s sham elections. They chanted, “The Iranian people boycott the sham election.”, “Our vote is regime change”, “The slogan of the Iranian people – The election boycott,” “The nation has not forgotten – The murderer of 1988.”
It is worth noting that the MEK resistance units play a significant role in the nationwide boycott of the regime’s sham elections inside Iran. The MEK’s role in mobilizing society has terrified the regime.
Just in April, in more than 250 places in 27 provinces, the MEK Resistance Units organized anti-regime activities daily. This is while the regime has increased its suppressive measures by arresting and imprisoning supporters of the opposition. The regime has specifically mobilized its security apparatus to find and target MEK Resistance Units. Security cameras in major cities make it very difficult for opposition members and supporters to carry out their activities discreetly.
The Resistance Units risk being arrested, imprisoned, and tortured while carrying out these activities that aim to break the atmosphere of fear imposed by the mullahs and give heart to millions of outraged people who demand regime change. Anti-regime slogans targeting the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei have covered the city walls. Slogans such as “Down with Khamenei” and “No to religious dictatorship, yes to a democratic republic.”
