Rising Death Tolls From COVID-19 Across Iran as Provinces Report Worrying Statistics

While the Iranian regime’s official death toll from the Covid-19 virus now stands at 127,551, according to reports that have been tallied by the Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the true figure is over four times higher than that at 473,700 deaths so far.

While the Iranian regime’s official death toll from the Covid-19 virus now stands at 127,551, according to reports that have been tallied by the Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the true figure is over four times higher than that at 473,700 deaths so far.

Across the 547 cities of Iran’s 31 provinces, the figures are astonishing with Tehran having the highest number of deaths from the novel coronavirus at 111,165. The next highest figures were from the cities of Razavi Khorasan and Isfahan who had figures between 30 and 40 thousand. Five provinces saw between 15 and 20 thousand deaths, while a further four cities saw between 5 and 10 thousand deaths, with the city of Ardabil seeing the lowest number of deaths at 5920.

The MEK said, “The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Wednesday as 135 deaths and 7948 new cases. Furthermore, 3616 patients are in ICUs and 1430 of the new cases have been hospitalized.”

According to the ISNA news agency, a senior official of the National Covid-19 Task Force stated in on Wednesday that in the cities that have seen an increase in the number of positive cases and hospitalizations are being registered as red zones.

A statement from the Mashhad Medical Sciences University acknowledged an increase in cases of people seeking medical care for virus symptoms, as well as hospital admissions and people in ICU.  They reported that on Tuesday, they had 202 new patients admitted to be treated for Covid-19 alone.

The MEK said, “In Kerman province, the number of daily deaths has been increasing during the past week and the number of cases is rising. The cities of Zarand and Shahr-e Babak in the northern parts of Kerman province have been registered as red zones, and the city of Kerman remains an orange zone, according to a Wednesday report wired by the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).”

The Lorestan Province Covid-19 Task Force issued a report on Wednesday indicating that the number of new cases per day has increased dramatically by more than 100 percent. The same day, the Dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University explained that they had 936 covid positive patients hospitalized, with 220 residing in the ICU, in an interview with the Tasnim news agency, who are closely affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards’(IRGC)notorious Quds Force.

The Yazd Medical Sciences University reported a total of 109 new patients admitted, with a further 85 being sent to ICU, while the Isfahan and Kashan Medical Sciences Universities gave a joint statement which indicated an increase of 174 new patients. This took their patient numbers up to 1223.

The highest number of hospitalized patients was noted by the deputy dean of the Shiraz Medical Sciences University in Fars province, who stated that they have 1597 covid positive patients being treated at the hospital, of which 196 are being closely monitored in the ICU.
