Iran, September 22, 2021—In his address to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Iranian regime president Ebrahim Raisi blamed Iran’s disastrous Covid-19 pandemic on the U.S.
Raisi: “Despite the fact that the Islamic republic of Iran was keen from the outset to purchase and import Covid-19 vaccines from reliable international sources, it faced inhumane medical sanctions”
Regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei had banned the import of WHO-approved vaccines in January 2021.
The U.S. has stressed that it has placed no sanctions on the import of humanitarian goods and medicine to Iran.
Due to the regime’s destructive policies, Iran is faced with one of the worst pandemics in the world. More than 430,000 people have died of Covid-19 in Iran since February 2020.
