Iran: Sattar Beheshti’s Mother and Sister Were Arrested So That Khamenei Could Sleep Peacefully!

Sattar Beheshti's Mother and Sister Were Arrested by the Iranian Regime — November 3, 2021
Sattar Beheshti’s Mother and Sister Were Arrested by the Iranian Regime — November 3, 2021

On the eve of the anniversary of Sattar Beheshti’s martyrdom, security, and intelligence forces arrested his family for intimidating and preventing holding a ceremony for him.

According to reports, on Wednesday night, November 3, 2021, security agents stormed the house of Sahar Beheshti, Sattar’s sister, and arrested her family members. Regime repressive forces also searched and collected their communications equipment.

On November 4, 2012, Sattar Beheshti, a worker, and blogger who had previously been arrested only for criticizing Khamenei on his blog, died under torture.

Announcement of Satar Beheshti Foundation

The Sattar Beheshti Foundation published this news and wrote: On the eve of the anniversary of Sattar Beheshti’s martyrdom, security agents arrested all members of Sattar Beheshti’s family following a brutal attack and intimidation.

At 10 pm on Wednesday, November 3,  security forces brutally stormed the house of Sahar Beheshti, Sattar Beheshti’s sister. They arrested all members of Sattar Beheshti’s family while inspecting and collecting their communications equipment.

According to the Sattar Beheshti Foundation, Sattar’s mother, “Gohar Eshghi,” suffered a heart attack and could not breathe for moments during the attack. The regime’s agents also prevented her daughter Sahar Beheshti from delivering medicine to Gohar Eshghi and beat her while insulting her.

Beating detainees

Mostafa Eslami, Sahar Beheshti’s husband, one of the detainees, also protested the officers’ treatment of his wife and his mother-in-law, which led to him being severely beaten again. Also, the constant terror and crying of Sahar Beheshti’s ten and 2-year-old children caused one of the officers to attack them.

Gohar Eshghi on the anniversary of the abduction of Sattar Beheshti (October 31) in a video that was released for the first time from the official page of the Sattar Beheshti Foundation, thoroughly explained the abduction of Sattar. In this video, Gohar Eshghi says to Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the mullahs’ regime: “You destroyed our life, may God destroy yours.”

It is worth mentioning that so far, all means of communication with Sattar’s family have been cut off, and there is no information about their fate.

In this regard, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said: “The mullahs’ inhuman regime tries to fend off protests on the anniversary of the Nov. 2019 uprising by arresting the victims’ families. The detention of Sattar Beheshti’s mother and sister shows its inability to deal with the public anger. The int’l community must reject this savage regime.”

Also, Amnesty International condemned arresting Sattar Beheshti’s family and stated: “The arbitrary arrest of Gohar Eshghi and her family exposes yet again the crisis of impunity in #Iran where the systematic lack of accountability for torture and unlawful deaths in custody is routinely accompanied by the persecution of bereaved relatives seeking justice.”

“Iran’s authorities must immediately & unconditionally release human rights defender Gohar Eshghi, her daughter and son-in-law, violently arrested 3 Nov for commemorating Sattar Beheshti, Gohar Eshghi’s son who died under torture in custody in Nov 2012, & for seeking truth & justice”
